I think it would be super wonderful if Hayley were to re-record several of her early songs. Her voice is much bigger now and ready for the challenges they hold. They are:
1. Memory -- Yes, her early recording was sweet and pure, and that's exactly the problem. A brand new take on it would have all the heft and richness necessary to convey this tunes' profound melancholy and yearning. Go for it, Hayley!
2. A Groovy Kind of Love -- Even though her stage performance of this at age 11 or 12 was remarkable, let's face it: this song needs her now. She's completely up to the task!
3. Pie Jesu -- A crossover warhorse if there ever was one, ALW's tune has stood the test of time, and it's high time Hayley gave it another go -- only this time with proper production standards.
4. Morning Has Broken -- At least 2000 more mornings have broken since she first recorded this cute little song in her cute little voice. Wake up and sing it anew! It's a great uplifting tune!
Any others? Notice that I've restricted my choices to her pre-Decca material. I'm sure someday we'll want her to re-do a few tracks from Pure and Odyssey, but I'm in no hurry for that!

Hi Steve,
I would like to suggest to you, go to the Forum "Albums" then the sub-boards "What Songs Do You Want/Think Are On Her New Album?"
There are other song selections that others have recommended & maybe you can include your selections there also.
"A Groovy Kind of Love"....hmmm-I would love to hear Hayley do that one also....
My Very Best, Howard

"A Groovy Kind of Love"....hmmm-I would love to hear Hayley do that one also.... There was a video of her singing it when she was much younger. It was excellent! Don't know where that vid went. Anyone here know where to find it?

Hello Steve and Howard! I've found the video on the HWI main site HERE. If it doesn't start automatically, click on the Play button. Enjoy! Richard

How about Eternal Flame? It would be refreshing for her to sing such a vintage pop song again.

Hello Steve and Howard! I've found the video on the HWI main site HERE. If it doesn't start automatically, click on the Play button. Enjoy! Richard Hi Richard, thanks for finding that, I forgot we had it! As you could see, there was a problem with that web page, which I will take a look at later today and try to fix but in the meantime I've moved the video itself somewhere else on the site so it doesn't currently work - but I'll put it back when I fix the page (later today or tonight). now fixed, video/audio enhanced, page restored. Cheers, Dave

I would enjoy hearing Hayley sing those songs now, but somehow it seems unlikely that she would, or at least that she'd record them. I've never even heard Groovy Kind of Love, or Eternal Flame? Where is Eternal Flame? Is that one on her very, very first album that is no longer available?

Hi Libby,
'Eternal Flame' only appeared on Hayley's demo disc, 'Walking in the Air' which I think is the one you mean. It was never released but a few were sold at the time in stores in Christchurch. Other than that, only those who were fortunate enough to see her busking were able to buy it.
