Never had a problem with CC. She was just living her life, and I respected her choice to change direction. But this thread is not about CC. I thought I had already posted in here... the thread may have been moved or locked.
Andy, former webmaster of Hayley Westenra World, who was a very good friend of mine, introduced me to Hayley in 2002 by sending me her first two albums. Didn't like the albums, but her voice struck me, so I looked out for her. Sure enough she came in 2003 with 'Pure', and I somehow heard she was going on a chat show in London, so I phoned up for audience tickets. I got them, met her, Simon, Keith and Shirley. Really enjoyed the show, and her. Most of all, I loved 'Pure'. Been following her career since.
I had written a longer version of that somewhere, but I have no idea where it is.

Hi Nicola, Just to solve the enigma, we currently have three very silimar threads and the post you made the other day is in one of the others, here. And before anyone asks, two of those threads were briefly locked but, following an objection, we chose to unlock them again. It just goes to show, sometimes we just can't win. Roger

After Charlotte started to implode personally and professionally I turned my focus to Hayley, saw her in NYC, and the rest is history. I wouldn't say she imploded. I would. But that's a discussion I don't think we need to get into here. I've found other artists I want to follow, and that's that.

I didn't, and I disagree, to me this is just defending the indefensible, BUT, we already tangled over this and I have no wish to do so again. The point is I decided to follow someone else more to my liking, which was my choice.

Everybody knows your opinion already (and then some). I was giving my two cents to Irish-Hayley-Fan. Roger: XD I guess they had some subtle differences in topic, but I had guessed that they had disappeared, as I found myself writing the same thing out a few times. Ah, things are bound to be repeated in the end, and when they are, they are always given a new slant.

Hello Nicola! There's actually a fourth thread, "Memories of meeting Hayley", which also overlaps this thread to a degree. That shouldn't be confused with "How did you meet Hayley?" which I've just found as well. Richard

I don't know if things have gone too far for that, but can I suggest some rationalisation. Either combine them all into one thread, or create a sub board with them all in and a title like "First Impressions of Hayley"
Sorry if I've just given someone a job!

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the suggestions but, unfortunately, the software doesn't enable us to merge threads at the moment. We are promised that it will be a new feature when Proboards Version 5 is rolled out but we will need to carry out our own tests to ensure it works in a way that suits our needs.
We would only create new sub-boards for significant special topics such as a major tour within 'Hayley in Concert'. To do so merely to group similar topics together would make forum navigation unnecessarily complex.

Hello Martin! The other day I tried to merge the discussions in three of the threads by locking two of them and cross-referencing them to the third. Unfortunately objections were raised, so I quickly changed everything back again. Richard

Hi all
I thought that I would say how I came across Hayley.
I had stumbled across Hayley a few times before I realized how awesome she was.
I sort of knew her name but didn't really take notice of her.
I got "Endless Ocean" on the wii, but if i'm going to be honest didn't really listen to her music on the game. (Mostly because if i'm on the wii I normally have to mute the telly so my parents can listen to the radio)
I then came across her on Lee Mead's album and I really liked their duet, but again I didn't investigate further.
Its sort of strange how my eyes were opened to Hayley. My family and I were watching the remembrance festival last november and we ended up having a conversation about how old Hayley was. (I thought she was older than she is, but then my sister didn't realise she was from New Zealand) So I decided to Google her. After finding out her age I looked at some videos of her singing and I was blown away!! (Not literally) And as they say the rest is history Ever since I've been hooked
Sorry if I've bored anyone
Beth xx

Its always interesting to hear from others how they discovered Hayley. I discovered her through Youtube, whilst looking at some tourism video's of New Zealand, and one of them had one of her songs as background music. I quickly lost interest in the slideshow and paid attention more to what I was hearing. I then watched a couple of video's of her performing, and I was, as you say, blown away! I then bought 5 of her albums off Amazon! Cheers, Ben
