... It was great fun, this quiz. Please, I would like others to have a go at it. Especially these TWO questions... 2. What will be the relevance of the number 7564 to Hayley on Christmas Day? No offense but I think my go at Q2 was perfectly accurate if a bit convoluted.

No offense but I think my go at Q2 was perfectly accurate if a bit convoluted. If Santa Claus brings her a time machine she can input that number into the reverse-days function and see what the world looked like on the day she was born. Oh, I get what you're saying...December 25th marked 7564 days since the day Hayley was born!

I have a feeling all the correct answers were supplied overall, with the only mildly controversial one being the question of how many different musical instruments Hayley's "been known" to play. There is evidence of her having dabbled with several instruments. The question clearly asks for just those instruments on which she has demonstrated a passable proficiency and limits this number to three. But which three?

I have a feeling all the correct answers were supplied overall.... Sorry folks, but that is not the case. There are still two questions that have not been correctly answered. Admittedly one of them may be disputed (but it is not the three instruments one) and I may have to conceed the point but I am still looking for something else! All answers will be revealed tomorrow. Okay, time's up, pencils down now! Quiz Answers 1. If all the songs that Hayley has ever recorded were listed in alphabetical order, which one would appear last?
Answer: 'You'll Never Walk Alone' from My Gift To You.
2. What will be the relevance of the number 7564 to Hayley on Christmas Day?
Answer: That is how many days old she will be.... er... was!
3. In which country was Hayley three days before her 18th birthday?
Answer: Ghana on a field trip for UNICEF.
4. What is the connection between the theatre in Wellington where the DVD was recorded and a venue in London where she appeared in September 2005?
Answer: St James (St James Theatre, Wellington and St James's Church, Piccadilly.)
5. With whom did Hayley sing a duet on 24th August 2006?
Answer: Méav Ní Mhaolchatha of Celtic Woman (at Slane Castle). Okay, I would have accepted just Méav!
6. What are the three instruments that Hayley is known to be able to play?
Answer: Piano, violin and guitar. Admittedly some doubt has been raised about the guitar since the question was asked but I will stand by my answer on the basis of the American Dreams appearance and on conversations I had with Hayley and Jill two years ago in which I assumed she could play to some degree. There was no indication to the contrary. Yes, we have been aware of the photo of her sitting at the harp for some time but I am not aware that she can play it. Similarly, I have not heard it said that she can play a recorder although she almost certainly learned it at school. Didn't we all?!
7. What is the name of the school play in which Hayley appeared at the age of 6?
Answer: The Littlest Star.
8. For which charity did Hayley make a brief appearance on 6th December 2003?
Answer: Amnesty International (in Trafalgar Square, London).
9. In which city was Hayley's sixth public appearance with Il Divo?
Answer: Montreal, Canada.
10. In which city was Hayley's final appearance with Celtic Woman?
Answer: Salt Lake City, Utah. The original schedule included a later concert in Denver,Colorado but this was cancelled due to severe weather conditions.
11. Which song includes the line, "One dear vision oft appears"?
Answer: The Mists of Islay.
12. How many places are there in the world called Christchurch, and where are they? (They may be cities, towns, villages, districts, etc, but not colleges or churches!).
Answer: 3 - New Zealand, Dorset (England) and a parish in Barbados. Joe, I have to accept your answer although I am unaware of the one in Oregon as it does not appear in the Times Comprehensive Atlas but the parish in Barbados does and anyway, I've been there!
13. In their New Zealand home, the Westenras have a family pet. What is it? And what is its name?
Answer: A parakeet called Zac!
14. On what date was Celtic Treasure released in the USA and Canada?
Answer: 13th March 2007. Yes alright, 3/13/07 if you prefer!
15. For what does the acronym UNICEF stand?
Answer: United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.
16. What is Sophie's middle name?
Answer: Larelle.
17. What are the first names of all four people currently at Bedlam Management?
Answer: Steve, Kathryn, Erica and Nicola.
18. Of which song did Hayley record three versions (fast, slow and Japanese)?
Answer: Wiegenlied.
19. How many songs has Hayley recorded (anywhere) whose title is a question, and what are they?
Answer: 5, namely - Do You Hear What I Hear? (MGTY) - How Deep Is Your Love? (WITA) - How Many Stars? (DVD) - Mary Did You Know? (MGTY, Pure (some versions), DVD) - Who Painted the Moon Black? (Pure, DVD)
20. On what date was the HWI Forum officially launched? Answer: 24th July 2003, Joe, you believe it was 16th July. I would be intriged to know where you got that date from. Keith's first post on the Announcements board is dated 24th and I have always believed that to be the official start date. If you know otherwise, please let us know.
And finally, a conundrum:
Rearrange the following letters to form a site for sore eyes!!!
A TINY LITTLE ARENA WE HEAR SONNY = HAYLEY WESTENRA INTERNATIONAL A TINY LITTLE ARENA WE HEAR SONNY --- HWI Intl I'm sorry Steve but I have to disallow your answer as there is no joker in our name although, admittedly, there are a few running the show! Thank you to those of you who had a go and well done to the countless members who knew all the answers but didn't get around to posting them! Well done to George for being the only one to name Méav in Q5. And yes, Joe can have an extra point for neatness! Roger

Hi Roger I didn't post an entry to your Christmas quiz, but I enjoyed thinking about it and seeing what other members submitted. It certainly seems to have sparked a few interesting debates! Had I entered, I think I would have got 6 or 7 right! Anyone know of a college course on Hayley? Best wishes Grant

Hi Roger! This quiz was a lot of fun...thank very much! Questions 3,5,and 20 I got wrong 12. Looks like this Christchurch in Oregon is a church after all! 20. On what date was the HWI Forum officially launched? Answer: 24th July 2003, Joe, you believe it was 16th July. I would be intriged to know where you got that date from. Keith's first post on the Announcements board is dated 24th and I have always believed that to be the official start date. Oh, 16th July is when Keith registered his account. That's also more or less when the forum was created. You are correct when it's official opening was probably a week later! Cheers, Joe i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Answer: A parakeet called Zac!
[/quote] So it was actually a parakeet? A few of us said it was a cockatiel -- per an article in HWI. To be specific, on 25 September 2004 the New Zealand Times said it was a cockatiel named Zak (spelt with a k).
