Hi Graham, Well, it isn't Hayley's voice that we hear initially, but in the second verse, yes it is! It is the duet she sang with Dutch crooner Helmut Lotti for his album which is included in Other Albums, HERE Roger

Whew, that was unusual for sure! It sounds like Hayley-trying-not-to-sound-like-Hayley, if that makes any sense. Must be an entirely different recording engineer at the controls. Too Lawrence Welk for my taste.

Thanks Roger, I 'kinda' knew that it would not be a new discovery !

Heh
"Welkiness" isnt a bad way to describe this - it might be better to suggest that it is in the romantic style of the 40's early 50's easy listening. It isnt so much that Hayley is trying to sound like not-Hayley as it is that she is crooning. This creates a difference in her sound. This has happened before. If I wasnt closely following Hayley I might not realize that Wuthering Heights and Summer Fly were from the same artist either.
None of this is really out of place in the larger context of her career in my opinion. She is a crossover singer trying to maximize her success by appealing to as wide a variety of niche markets as possible. She is also experimenting more and more now - something that I think will only accelerate in the immediate future.

For what it's worth, that Lotti guy's voice reminds me so much of Elvis Presley at his mellowest, so this duet serves as a good approximation of how Hayley and Elvis might have sounded together.

Another thing which struck me as odd is that I couldnt detect a hint of accent in his voice - and yes, he does sound a great deal like Elvis

Hello everybody! That is definitely Hayley singing with Helmut Lotti, but that is not them on the beach. However, I can tell you "Helmut Lotti has left the building!" Hayley's duet with Helmut is also available on her new Japanese compilation album 'Prayer'. See this thread. Richard

I strongly suspect that they eyes indeed belong to Hayley - and they certainly have the right sparkle for the moment However, this raises the question of where exactly the picture came from. I strongly suspect that we have seen that picture of her before, however the close up doesnt contain many identifying characteristics Jon

those eyes and that voice are certainly Hayley's, but I'm not sure that it's her in the video. It could be though. I'm positive its not Lotti though!
