Believe it or not, occasionally I sing along to Hayley songs, mainly because I've come to like the songs so much. I don't do it around other people or it would spoil their enjoyment of Hayley, but by myself it seems perfectly cool, although I don't sing "I feel pretty" for obvious reasons
Does anyone else sing along to Hayley, and if so, which songs? Are there any you flat-out refuse to sing, even in the shower?

Lets see. I probably sing "pokarekare ana" too much and know if off by heart. Can play it on Harmonica now. Started learing "Santa Lucia" and know first two lines of by heart. I probably sing too much in general. Also "abide with me" occationly and can now play it on accordion, not well yet. Maybe a few other songs I would sing, but not when there is company. Accidently started singing "I feel pritty" cause it was stuck in my mind and then stopped, for obvious reasons. Whoops. Glad no one was around. Also love singing "My Heart Belongs to You" Would love to sing it to my girlfriend who, I don't have yet and hoping this year will be good in that department for me. heck, I love singing, but could probably never go on stage - Get nervous and can't seem to do anything, stage fright.

I would never want to sing along with Hayley...I listen intently to enjoy every note she sings. But I do sing along with regina spector ...have you heard of her ? She has a lovely voice and bounces it around in all of her songs ! I have never even tried to sing in the shower. I do sing in Church though with everyone else around me overruling my attempts to sing in tune !! Good for you though to enjoy singing along with Hayley !! Love, Marianne

Does anyone else sing along to Hayley, and if so, which songs? Hey Steve ! I do find myself singing (mostly humming) along to Hayley on occasion. Mostly on 'May It Be', 'Both Sides Now', 'Never Saw Blue', 'Summer Rain', every track from "Pure", and loads more. I love whistling along to Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 Aria' ! Now, if there are any songs that I refuse to sing, are 'Quanta Qualia'...and 'I feel pretty' Joe

Hi Steve! This is a great question. I DO sing along to Hayley. I also find myself singing Hayley songs when I'm no where near music. What songs? Anything and everything. <3 Caite

Hi everyone Last night driving home from Porthcawl, I had time to listen to treasure 3 times i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Yes, I was singing, loudly too - as no one can hear you when youre in the car alone !! Like you Caite, I also sing, or hum at least Hayleys songs even when the CD isnt playing - usually if I'm doing a little housework - or dare I say it - in the shower Mark

Hi Everyone, I love singing along to Hayley singing Le Notte Del Silenzio , and Santa Lucia, and i have no idea what im singing. Belinda Hi Belinda, This is one of the advantages of being a guitar-player. No translation required! Notes are notes. The language is universal. I've played Santa Lucia for years and I never get tired of doing so. Santa Lucia is the patron saint of the eyes. One of my aunts went blind years ago. So, when I was young and played the tune, my mother who was from Italy, would always stop what she was doing around the house and simply listen and remember. Whenever the relatives got together, there was always a request for me to play the song. My mom is gone now, but every time I play Santa Lucia, I think of her. Regards, Gene

Hmm... interesting question. I don't think I sing along to Hayley a lot, unless it's a really poppy song, such as 'My Heart Belongs to You.' But my shower repertoire includes a lot of her songs: Santa Lucia, Across the Universe, Prayer, I Dreamed a Dream, Dany Boy, and Amazing Grace sung to the tune of The Water is Wide. Oksy

Amazing Grace sung to the tune of The Water is Wide. Oksy Hi Oksy, Huh? I've just tried that and got totally confused! There are similarities in the melodies and I'm sure that the lyrics of one would fit the tune of the other but maintaining concentration whilst doing it is not easy. Maybe it works better in the shower! Roger

Lol, Roger.. I don't know, it works for me... there are some spots where you have to add a few syllables to make it fit the melody, but I've been singing it that way for about a year now... its a lot easier for me.
Put on Hayley's Water is Wide, and try to sing along to the piano intro...

I'll try that, Oksy... when there is nobody listening! Can you do it the other way around? That is, can you sing 'The Water Is Wide' to the tune of 'Amazing Grace'? Roger

So you can sing "Amazing Grace" to the tune of "Water is Wide" -- that's pretty good.
But for a real challenge, try mixing these up:
"Wuthering Heights" to the tune of "Pokarekare Ana"
"Dido's Lament" to the tune of "Summer Fly"
"Never Say Goodbye" to the tune of "At the Ceili"
