Great thread, Nicola! I noticed a couple of duplications in the list (NZ ambassador and stage presence), so here are two more:- A) Hayley enjoys living in London and being called an Honorary Brit. B) She connects easily with people of all ages. Happy New Year! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

I am not an expert but I believe that after five years residency here in the UK Hayley could apply for British Citizenship or dual nationality. She would have no problem getting references! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Martin

Hi Martin,
I don't imagine Hayley would ever apply for British citizenship. She is a kiwi through and through and long may that be the case. Dual nationality is a possibility but only if there is some practical need to do so.
I think the term "Honorary Brit" has been applied by many supporters and possibly by some enthusiastic reporters in the media. From what I understand, Hayley is quite happy with that because we know she enjoys her time in the UK.
Whatever official nationality she holds, she will never stop waving the New Zealand flag with pride. Good for you, Hayley!
Roger

Hi Belinda and Roger Sorry if it was interpreted that Hayley should give up her NZ citizenship - far from it as we all know how she loves her country. I was merely pointing out anyone's eligibilty after five years residency in the UK. No offence meant! Best wishes Martin

Hi Martin,
Don't worry, I don't think anyone seriously thought you meant that. We just like the opportunity to applaud Hayley's kiwi-ness!

Hello Martin and everybody! I'm sure Hayley has described herself as an Honorary Brit in at least one interview. I can't remember where or when, but she was certainly happy with the tag! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Notice some themes emerging?:
3. The way she makes her fans feel at ease when they meet her. 87. Hayley has the ability to make those around her feel at ease
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Her remarkable on-stage (Christmas) presence! 57. Her stage presence 76. Her unflappable stage presence when the subway trains were rumbling beneath Joe's Pub.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
32 The expressive way she uses her hands when singing 98. I love the way she uses her index finger to make a point.

Hi Martin, British Citizenship Belinda Hi Belinda, Part of Hayley's charm is her very New Zealand-ness! I'd be very surprised if Hayley ever added another Nationality to her passport unless there was an urgent need for it and I can't think of one at the moment. So I don't think you need to worry about that, Belinda! We are of course flattered when she is nice about her life in the UK - I think she's also said she considers herself to be an honorary Welsh woman, for example! Martin, I know you were only being tongue-in-cheek about it! Cheers, Dave
