Hi everyone! What are your favourite videos from HWI? Here are my top 8: 8. Pro Sieben - I just love this one -- you get to hear Hayley speak in German, and she does a new arrangement of two songs from Pure -- a somewhat poppier version of Across the Universe and an impromptu version of Pokarekare Ana to the ukelele! 7. Heaven and Earth - Hayley speaks about her walk with Christ; and does a lovely version of the simple and sweet song 'Down to the River' (which I really hope she'll include on her next CD, because it's a gorgeous piece with a great message!). 6. Detroit Public TV - Absolutely flawless a-capella rendition of Amazing Grace. 5. Vivo Per Lei - Hayley sings a wonderful song with her favourite singer Andrea Bocelli, while one of Canada's most beloved skating teams performs. 4. Romanza - A clip of an Andrea Bocelli song that Hayley performed when she joined Russell Watson in concert. The lovely song is just perfect for her soaring voice.
3. Des and Mel - Hayley does a stunning rendition of O Mio Babbino Caro putting so much emotion into it. And that gorgeous dark blue blouse suits her very well!
2. Hornby Talent Quest - Long before stardom reached the Westenras, Hayley sings her heart out with 'Lullaby of Broadway.' If the people walking around in the mall knew how famous Hayley would become, I bet they would have stopped to listen more! And this was truly worth a listen -- Hayley sings and interprets the song flawlessly!
1. I Dreamed a Dream - I've listened to a few interpretations of this song by actual Broadway stars on the Internet, but none were as heartbreakingly beautiful as Hayley's at only 14 (or 15?). Russell Watson's introduction was perfect: "I've heard a lot of voices in my time, and this is probably one of the most beautiful and finest voices, and I believe truly earns the title of 'voice of an angel.'"
So there are my top 8. Share yours! (And if you can't choose just 8, feel free to add more! -- Of course, you can do less, too!)

Hi Oksy, Great list of clips! My favourite clips are Hayley's Broadway Lullaby right from the beginning. What an amazing performance for a 9 year old !!! Stardom written all over her ! My second favourite clip would have to be the Heaven & Earth Interview. I absolutely identify with Hayley's discovery having committed my life to Christ through reading a book by Billy Graham, never having heard the Christian Gospel before. My third favourite clip has to be 'Prayer' (naturally). love Marianne

Hello Oksy and everybody! I'm finding it really hard to choose my favourite videos of Hayley, because they are all so good. I particularly enjoy clips that include her speaking voice, because then her true personality really shines, but my simple answer to the original question is... All of them! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Belinda et al, Without the shadow of a doubt my favourite "unofficial Hayley video" is Hayley's performance of 'A Groovy Kind of Love', captured on August 27th, 2000, on the occasion of the Rainbow Children's Trust Mediathon in Christchurch, NZ. This video which is available via the 1996-2002 Videoplayer on the main website, really captures the spontaneity of Hayley's singing talent. You will most probably shed a tear or two watching a quite beautiful young Hayley here. The voice is there! My favourite official Hayley video is 'Pokarekare Ana' Regards, Andrew

Hi All. I'm with Richard in his ALL OF THEM statement but I'll just write down the ones that come to mind as they come to mind. Some will be the same as Oksy's but I won't refer to them first or else I'll confuse myself.
1. 2003 Frank Skinner show: He very quickly got Hayley's measure. Her verbal gymnastics & sense of fun & humour were lovely. I don't know how many times I've watched that clip. I even made a .cda of it to play in the car.
2. 2005 GMTV Interview & Mio Babbino Caro...2 clips. fantastic.
3. Romanza part only. 2002...Utterly gorgeous. I'd love to hear her sing it now.
4. 2006 Mummer's Dance Cadogen hall....awesome.
5. Welsh Anthem Finale. A huge thrill to see an avowed NZ patriot in Wales singing the Welsh Anthem in the front of the stage alongside the Welsh Greats. Only Hayley can do that sort of thing & also announce herself as an honorary Welsh woman.
6. I say Grace at LA's Crystal Cathedral. Both the interchange she had with Robert Schuler & the brilliant performance of the song itself.
7. Gary Scovill's interview with her. She explains that she gets a sore face because she can't stop smiling. Only neg. side of that one is the wierd continual camera changes & the camera man is to be seen continually passing to & fro. Interview itself is fantastic.
I think that's enough from me for now. Graemek

Hello Graeme! It's very interesting that you mentioned Hayley's appearance with Frank Skinner. I think that was the first time I ever saw Hayley being interviewed on TV, and I was very impressed with the way she kept Frank under control, considering his rather wicked sense of humour. She was definitely the real star of that show, and she was clearly showing her growing confidence. It was almost a turning point for her, and I've thoroughly enjoyed all her interviews since. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hi All once more ! One other favourite of mine is the 'Squeeze' clip. I love Hayley's very curious expression on her face when Jill is asked to comment on Hayley. I also love her entry onto the stage singing 'Do you love me'? She looks so young & carefree totally enjoying herself in that unusual environment for her. And how proud was she to receive her award that night (?Her first one??) love Marianne

Belinda, I also love this version of Never Saw Blue. I randomly ended up coming across this video on somebody's MySpace page when I was on Facebook (a college networking site) (not quite sure how I managed that.) Anyway, here is the link: www.myspace.com/hayley_westenra87I think it is the third video down on the right column. There is also a cute video of Hayley and the Choir Boys performing in a church. I really like the Hornby Talent Quest video. Wonder if Hayley has seen it lately. Can't seem to get the "Groovy Kind of Love" one to stream, but will keep trying. Great job with the videos on the HWI site.

Hi All, For those who aren't aware of it, at groups.msn.com/RussellWatsonHayleyWestenra/hwmultimedia.msnw there is a collection of Hayley videos and radio tinterviews, not all of which are yet on HWI (I know Simon has been working on that). It includes the Denmark "Never Saw Blue" video on the 2005 page - I think the one on Hayley's MySpace is the exact copy of the one I published there . Groovy Kind of Love can also be downloaded there from the 2002 page! My favourites? 1. Hine e Hine on Michael Parkinson's Christmas With The Stars 2003 2. Pie Jesu from Auckland 2002 3. Never Saw Blue from Denmark 2005 4. Holmes Show 2003 5. Gary Scovil's video Gerrit

Thanks for the link Gerrit. I have been to the site, but it has been a while. I just took a peak in at it and I am already downloading videos that were added since my last visit. I came across a video that I didn't see in your collection (I may have missed it.) But, anyway, it is another skating video. Hayley sings Who Painted the Moon Black? on the today show as a skater skates along. They don't show Hayley nearly enough though! The announcer also butchers Hayley's last name. Hi Katie,
Many thanks for the link - I was unaware of the existence of this video. A neat feature is that they provide a transcript of the interview - at leats they got the spelling of Hayley's last name right!

No problem on providing the link. I feel incredibly lucky that they spelled Hayley's last name right in the transcript. Otherwise, I wouldn't have found this video. Before stumbling on this through Google I wasn't aware that it had been filmed.
