I really don't understand it at all. How come the bottom names are the same on all of the lists, but everything else is different? What about the Irelands? Her mum was an Ireland, and her Nana from whom she inherited her singing ability from. I guess I don't understand geneology (in case you couldn't tell!).

Re this thread. Hayley Ancestry.
It has come has a shock and surprise to find that we are actually related to Hayley.
I am 23rd Cousin 1 x removed and Abigail is Hayleys 24Th Cousin according to Family tree maker after entering Hayleys tree which is on this thread.

I am the 23rd great grandchild and Abigail is the 24Th great grandchildren of Edward 1st
Our side is connected by John Rufford marrying Miss Welles Edwards 7Th great grand daughter.
Our Family have been Medieval bell founders and wool merchants and farmers. Yeomen of the Crown for Edward the V111 plus supplying horses and stone for the castles to many kings along the way.

hi,

Hayley is related to probably about 30-40 million Americans as 15th cousins since i found a line through a well documented "gateway" ancestor Katherine Marbury Scott to one of Hayley's ancestors - Lord Mayor of London Ralph Verney. That connects her to many families that descend from the earliest settlers of New England (Mass., Rhode Island, etc.)

There are a few other links i found also to the Virginian settlers... namely the Corbin family that came in the 1600s. The famous Lee family (civil war general, etc.) descends from the Corbin family and that means Hayley is a cousin to them

i could share so much more from my research... i traced some of the Westenra descendants all the way to Arkansas so there are even more here.

Bottom line i think just about all of us (with UK ancestry) are related to her probably in the 16th cousin range.

1) who was Warner William Warren WESTENRA's parents? i cant find a web reference for that though you've presumed he's richards progeny; richard is only recorded as having 3 daughters

according to the reference to the midlothian that you provided warner wasnt on that boat, even though he should have been 7 at the time

This is so cool!!! My own ancestry goes back to Clan MacFarlane!!! As well as Mary Queen of Scots!!! You know the castle that's featured in Highlander and Monty Python? (I've never actually seen these movies unfortunately). Well, it's called Stalker Castle (er, maybe Castle Stalker?) and it was home to some of my ancestors!

Warner William Warren Westenra's parents were Captain Richard Westenra and Isabella Pyne.

here's some info that i dug up on him back when i was working on the Westenra tree... and looking through all the cemetery records there in NZ.

Death: 23 May 1906 in Canterbury, New Zealand
Birth: 1842 in England
Name: Warner William Warren WESTENRA
Sex: M
This was the youngest son of Capt. Westenra

Born in England

He was 11 years old when the Westenra family arrived on the Midlothian in 1851.

His elder brother Richard married Selina Percy Aylmer in 1856. Selina Percy was the daughter of Rev. William Josiah Aylmer. Selina Percy's brother Justin Aylmer had a daughter called Selina Frances Aylmer and Warren seems to have married this daughter of Justin Aylmer's. Very interesting - looks like he married late in life.

He died of paralysis.

He is buried at Block 14, Plot 48 of the Linwood Cemetery in ChristChurch

MARRIAGE.

Westeiuka — Aylmek — On March 16th, at Akaroa, by the Rey. W. J, Aylmer, grandfather of the bride, Warner W. Westenra, • son of Captain Westenra, of Camla, Selwyri, Canterbury, to Selina Aylmer, daughter of Justin Aylmer, Esq., R.M.. Akaroa.


with regards to your second question about the Richard Westenra referred to in the peerage...

The Richard Westenra in the peerage (born 1796) with three daughters... belongs to a branch of the Westenras that stayed in Ireland. This Richard's grandfather, Henry Westenra, was a brother to
Warner William Warren Westenra's Grandfather Richard Westenra (the one that married Bridget Warren)... so they share a Great Grand Parent... Warner Westenra (wife Hester Lambart) making them 2nd cousins.

As you can imagine there are lots of Warners and Richards making things confusing... but i scoped it all out )))
