Hi everyone, I think some of you might know that I am going back to the USA for Christmas this year, and I just ordered a Hayley Pure pen from this hayleystore. I e-mailed Gerald and asked him if there was a color preference, and if I would get the pen I bought plus the free pen - he said, yes, and he'll send me one of each color! So that's Christmas taken care of for a few people! My cousin is a huge fan of Hayley and attended her Charlotte, NC concert from back in 2006. So I know she'll be pleased with the pen. Did these pens come in a box? Because that would be convenient for packing and gift wrapping. Dori

Hi Dori, Yes, the pens come in a box but not exactly a "presentation" box. First of all, they are in a plastic tube and that is in a silver-coloured card box (which opens at the end)... Roger

Hi Roger,
Thanks for that. Oh wow, that is so awesome, and cute! The tube should most definitely protect the pens in my suitcase! I am so pleased!

Hi Dori & Roger About time I got myself a set of pens! I've just tried the link on the official site (when did it turn blue!?) which doesn't seem to work. However, the identical link in Andrew's previous posts does work! I assume from what you say Dori, if I order two pens, I will get the third free? Best wishes Grant P.S. Roger, is it worth checking with someone about the link on the official site?

Hi Grant,
I have just tried the link from the official site to the Online Store and it is working perfectly.
Btw, it states that a free pen will be supplied with every order while stocks last.

Hi Grant, The Official forum should appear yellow with brown text, The "Blue " one is the old one and is only readable, No new postings , No Pm. I regret I was away when they locked it down, It would have been nice to have had a post in the "Last 10 Posts" ever made on it. which will remain the same for the future......

Hi comet, The link to the store is on the official site, not the forum. Anyway folks, there is a better way - try the link from the front page of HWI which looks something like this: There is also a link at the beginning of the thread on this forum, HERE. Roger

Best wishes Grant Hi Grant, Yes, if you order anything from the site, you will get a free pen, even if you order the pens! Gerald reassured me on that. I can't wait for them to arrive - I'm a writer, so pens are my best friends!! Dori

Well Roger, I'm a poet, and when it comes to poetry, I just can't write it on my laptop. :2fun: Other things, like longer fiction, I have to. But seriously, we've compensated typing for hand-writing WAY too much! But I write on the go; on the bus, at work, in my car (no wonder I can be a bad driver :2fun: but then again, I'd be a lot worst if I had to whip out my laptop in traffic now and again ) and I know for sure ... on the plane! So those lights on the Pure pens are going to serve me very well indeed! :2fun: I just hope the batteries will last. Are they changeable? Dori

Hi Dori, I haven't got to take a picture of the batteries, have I? Yes, they are changable but I have never needed to do it because I don't use the light for extended periods - just a few seconds to get the key in the door when I arrive home from a concert at 3 o'clock in the morning! They take the little button cell batteries which are marked "357A", if that means anything to you. Roger

Hi Roger these pens sound very nice. I was wondering when the ink eventually runs out can it be replaced?

Hi Jake, That's a very good question and I have wondered the same thing myself. I have had one for about four years and, although I don't use it very often, the ink has not run out. The pens come apart by pulling them (not unscrewing the barrel). I have just performed that delicate operation to see for the first time the shape and size of the refill. It is only an inch in length and I cannot see how it can be removed from the tip of the pen. I also suspect a replacement could only be obtained by a specialist pen shop. Basically, I don't know! Has anyone else ever tried? Roger

I don't have the pens, but I am an expert at reconstructing pens in general, so I believe I can help.
Almost all ink cartridges are removable. Whether or not you have another cartridge that will fit, however, I can not say, but you can ask around for one or you can use another pen with a similar sized tip and width as these and, when there is less than an inch left of ink, you can easily use a knife to remove the end. Then you stick the newly cut cartridge into where the old one was, put the pen back together, and you've got more ink of whatever colour you chose!
Hope that helped!
