This is my favourite. Hi Raymond, a big welcome to the forum from me, too... and hey, that's a fabulous photo of Hayley, thanks for posting it! Well actually it was slightly too fabulous, the 1000 pixels width was too wide for the board to take, for most people. So I hope you don't mind, I slightly downsized it (no, not as small as the one in the quote i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ) and now, it seems to fit nicely. Cheers from me, and please keep 'em coming! Dave

Hello again Raymond! I like your favourite picture too. It was on the flyer for Hayley's UK tour last November, when I met her at Southend, and I've got one framed in my lounge. I also keep a copy in my jacket pocket, so when I talk to people about Hayley I can show them a picture of her. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBye for now, Richard

Now, if we really want beauty, Keith, could you post that pic of Hayley and Katherine Jenkins from last year?

Does the last picture seem to have Hayley photoshopped in to you, anyone?
On the whole though, I must say that its a very very pretty photoshoot, though I balk somewhat at the massive and balant photoshopping (or whatever retouching they use.) And if this was purely digital art, I'd say they didn't do such a good job.

Hi Portia,
It certainly does look like it. And the colours look a little artificial to me as well.
Keith.

I'm smiling at the thought that my friends in high school could teach them a better photoshop job than that.

One thing we must not forget. That may be exactly the effect they were looking for.

The pictures are definitely photoshopped, but I like the technique used. To me, it looks like they've softened the focus, blurred the pictures (note Hayley's left arm in the bottom shot), darkened the shadows, and saturated the colours. This does two things:
1. gives the pictures a sort of semi-transparent, floaty feel, to underline Hayley's ethereal voice,
but at the same time,
2. makes the pictures really bold. The colours are rich, fresh, and deep, much like the music on this album.
The pics go really well with the material on the CD, and the photoshopping enchances the "odyssey" theme by creating a story-book-ish, adventurous atmosphere. I can almost feel the soft wind blowing and the clouds flying overhead as I look at the shots.

The colors however, don't they feel artificial to you? No one's skin is really THAT spot less. And the contrast between the shadows and bold colors create an "ouch" factor that I can't really point to "bold." I thought Hayley didn't like being artificial. I think the fact that they took such pains each time to bring Hayley out just kind of grates.
I think the concept is very pretty though. They actually make Hayley pretty to me (contrary to what most people on this forum think, I don't think Hayley is pretty at all). But the photoshop. It hurts.

No one's skin is really THAT spot less. Who isn't pictured with perfect skin for a CD photoshoot? The colours do look artificial to me, but not in an "ouch" kind of way. As Keith noted, it looks like the effect they were going for.
