When I was at Sophie's concert in Ashburton I talked to Gerald about the chances of a new DVD. He said Hayley had only just paid off the first DVD as it cost a lot of money. So if there is to be another DVD it will have to be cheaper to make. So if there will be another DVD it is likely to be filmed at a concert.

That's just scarey, To think that Hayley took on so much responsibility at such a young age, when most people are just taking out a loan for a scooter or a bike. No wonder Hayley has been working so hard recently to get rid of the various great big millstones around he neck..

OK, correct me If I'm wrong, but I'm sure HWI has most of the skills required to help Hayley create a new live DVD, OK maybe not to distribute it or arrange the legal requirements regarding royalties etc. However we do have some good photographers/videographers here and others with skills that would assist in such a venture.

Hi Dean,
Well, I could put together one from the Valentines Tour tomorrow - but not at professional quality and not without infringing copyright, mostly Andy Moore's. We would want both professional quality sound and video, which means better kit and perhaps a direct feed from the venue's sound system. Anything less would not do Hayley justice. Something as well produced as "Live from NZ" costs a lot of money I'm sure. But I suspect like her first album, the main cost is the production of large numbers of copies, distribution etc as you suggest. We wouldn't need a photo shoot though, we have lots of superb photos between us that could be used on the sleeve.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I always assumed her "Live From NZ" DVD was underwritten by American public television which used it for fund-raising purposes.

No wonder Hayley has been working so hard recently to get rid of the various great big millstones around he neck.. But it does mean she's sold sufficient across the board to recoup! I said to Steve in one of my first meetings and chats with him that it needed to be pushed. It was a good product and he should re-stock. I think he was considering at the time whether he should order another 1,000 stock. I think he must have done. I discussed with him the cost of a new one so I have an idea of how much the first one must have cost. It was a major product decision and in my view absolutely right although very courageous but at the time I had that conversation with Steve it would have been too early for another. Of course, that was the time when I had the financial contacts to possibly fund it! The world has changed much since, as have the places of influence changed their occupants! Peter S.

Hmm, I still don't have the Live From NZ and the Celtic Woman DVD . So those two are still to come first! But for a new DVD, would absolutely love the songs: 1. May It Be 2. Let Me Lie 3. Dogwood Flower 4. Love Love Love 5. Dark Waltz 6. Time To Say Goodbye 7. Le Notte Del Silenzio 8. Santa Lucia 9. Danny Boy 10. Songbird 11. River 12. Pokarekare Ana But even if neither of the songs are there on the DVD, it wont matter. Surely all of the songs on the DVD would be great. Cheers, Anshita

Pokarekare Ana & May it Be, are on the Live from NZ DVD.
I think Danny Boy too, not sure, the DVD is now stacked in a box, can't look at the cover at the moment...
I can highly reccomend that DVD!
Though I look forward if another one comes!

Indeed. I would love to have it on DVD, even after seeing quite a few on YT already.

No, Danny Boy isn't on the DVD. The DVD was made after Pure, and before Odyssey, so she hadn't even recorded May it Be or Both Sides Now, even though she sang it on the DVD.
But as for Pokarekare Ana, it wouldn't be the first time an artist sang their most famous songs on every DVD they release. Josh Groban's last DVD, for example, had 2 songs from his 1st CD, and 2 from his 2nd, and the rest were his new songs, plus some extras. Pokarekare Ana is definitely Hayley's classic song, so I'm sure she would include it, and maybe even Hine e Hine.
Here's my list - the ones I'd like her to sing, but also the ones I think she'd be likely to sing, going by the setlists I always see:
1. Pokearekare Ana 2. Never Saw Blue 3. Ave Maria (Caccini) 4. Prayer 5. Danny Boy 6. The Mummer's Dance 7. Songbird or I Know You By Heart, or both! 8. Wuthering Heights 9. Sonny 10. A duet, one with Jonathan Ansell or maybe Russell Watson 11. Hine e Hine 12. Abide with Me 13. Shenandoah 14. Scarborough Fair 15. Both Sides Now
However, I think if a new one ever does come out, it will come after one of her next albums. So, there'd be a lot of the new songs, but I'm sure she'd still include a few from her previous albums.
It's unlikely she'd sing any of her Japanese songs, but you never know, I guess. Maybe Nada Sousou.
Since she never sings Summer Rain or Let Me Lie in concert, she probably wouldn't on her DVD, either. It's really too bad she hasn't performed them more often.

True enough about Summer Rain which I have never known her sing in concert but I have seen her perform Let Me Lie on five occasions. However, your logic doesn't necessarily follow because she has not sung Benedictus in concert in the last six years but it is on the DVD. Roger

What I would like to see on it is I Know you by Heart. And now, maybe one of her classic forties songs like As Time Goes By (I loved the way she sang that at Nottingham) or possibly We'll Meet Again.

Martin D Hi Martin Do you remember As time Goes By from the movie Casablanca. When I heard that Hayley sang it in Nottingham I almost died. It's one of my all time favorite songs. How I wish I'd been there to hear her rendition of it. Larry

Yes, that's the one Larry. I'm sure you would have been blown away, she sang it superbly, somehow putting her own stamp on it too.
