Congratulations on enhancing your Hayley collection, Raymond!
I managed to ge the 'Wiegenlied' single imported and it is interesting to compare the three versions.
Enjoy! Roger

I also have just purchased the Japan single' Wiegenlied'. I love the Japanese version most. I will scan the booklet tomorrow. Lyrics are included in the booklet. 1 and 2 are German with a Japanese translation. 3 is Japanese. The price is reasonable. It is HK$70.(About British Pound 5.10 , Euro $7.46 ,US $9.02 , NZD $12.97 ) I purchased form a seller from Yahoo HK Auctions. But it is not a second-hand CD because I found that the seller is a CD store. A card is included in the parcel and that card shows me where is the CD store. I think I will go there and have a look later. I am happy that I can purchase a Hayley single which is only released in Japan. Cheers, Raymond Hi Raymond, is this CD the number UCCL-5003 (4756685) or an other one? Greetings, Lothar

I notice that the picture which appeared on the back of the 'Wiegenlied' CD single (I will scan my signed 'Wiegenlied' CD single for you later) is also included on the reverse of the inlay card. A picture taken from the same series was used on the Winter 'Pure' Tour posters and fliers in November 2004. Andrew Hello Andrew, I think you mean this one. I also have some other scans of this single on my site. www.freewebs.com/hwestenra/wiegenlied.htmRaymond Moved from 'Promotional CDs- Albums' Thread

Hi All, Yes Raymond- that's the one! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThanks for sharing your scanned image(s) from the 'Wiegenlied' CD single. I remember hearing Hayley singing 'Wiegenlied' during the Winter 'Pure' Tour of 2004 and I loved it! It was the slower version in German which she sang then- my favourite version. The 'Wiegenlied' CD includes 3 versions of the song: 2 versions in German- the second version being slightly faster than the first version and the third version is in Japanese. Hayley signed the inlay of my 'Wiegenlied' CD single for me with a gold pen after her recital at the 'ClassicaLive' event at the London Olympia on 20th March, 2005. Hayley's signature looks particularly great in gold on this CD cover as it is colour co-ordinated with the CD too! Andrew Moved from: 'Promotional CDs- Albums' Thread

I trust I shall come across the Wiegenleid scan in due course, but just catching up I wanted to comment that I was interested that Wiegenleid was produced as a single. It seems to strike chords with me tht are not necessarily reciprocated as intensely elsewhere. I have always thought it a wonderful song and superbly sung. In the German market I would have thought it would have done well. Does anyone have any idea how well it did and what sort of reception it received? Peter S. That information of three versions on the one Wiegenlied CD is most interesting. Andrew. It was during one of my early meetings with Hayley, the first time I had a chance to have a private chat with her that I told her how superb Wiegenlied was and that she should really make sure it was easily available. Ever since I'e wondered if I was right as it never seemed that prominent to me. Perhaps, understandably, it is more so in Germany. Does anyone know how this CD is generally perceived? Peter S. Hi Peter, I am not able to answer your question as I have no information about how the Wiegenlied single was received and I have never seen any feedback from elsewhere. Therefore, I can only offer my personal opinion. As you know, the single contains only three versions of that song. Interesting and enjoyable though it is, I suspect this is an item that is only of interest to the ardent Hayley enthusiasts (like us!) and of only limited interest to the majority. I had to import a copy direct from Japan as it was not available elsewhere at the time (April 2005, I believe). That would also have reduced any potential sales. These days, it is often available at amazon and elsewhere but, if you don't know it's there, you don't look. Most Hayley fans are probably only aware of the version that appears on Odyssey. Even then, it is only on the UK S/E and the Japanese editions. Roger Moved from: 'Promotional CDs'- Albums Thread

Just a quick question- are any of these tracks the same as the track on the other albums?

this single is the Wiegenlied single, not the Amazing Grace one. Ooooppss!! Sorry NL. My bad! There is a version of Weigenleid on 'Prayer' but I don't know if it's the same as either of the versions on the single and I can't check because I've lent my copy to a friend. I don't think the Japanese version is on any other album. Best wishes Grant

Hi Northern Lights, Perhaps I can answer your question because I haven't leant my Wiegenlied single to Grant's friend! Come to think of it, I don't even know Grant's friend!! And of course, we only have his word for it that he's even got a friend!!! All three versions on the Wiegenlied single are different to the one that appears on some versions of Odyssey on which it first appeared. The most noticeable difference is that the introduction is shorter on the album (about 7 seconds as opposed to 20 on the single), and the instrumentation is quite different - a very nice piano solo on the slow and Japanese versions, for example. The version on Prayer is, as far as I can tell, exactly the same as the Odyssey version. Roger
