Hi Alicia, Sorry that I can't be of much help to you in your decision as to whether to go for the whole sound track album, as I have not heard it. From what little I have heard of some of the songs, I don't think that any other tracks come anywhere near "Listen to the Wind". If you have good speakers on your computer, the YouTube song below is quite nice. BobS www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nq-X70DRrA

I have been reading all these back posts and the interview Hayley and James gave in France several years ago with interest and disbelief. First off, thank you Stepany for translating Hayley's interview several years ago in the French magazine. I agree with a lot of you that Listen to the Wind would have been a game changer for Hayley. Second, due to reading all your posts is making me want to grab the soundtrack (or at least the theme song), and add it to my collection. This is what I'm doing while waiting for Hayley's new album. Also helps that I've only been a fan for three years - my third anniversary is right around this time btw- so I have quite a lot left to enjoy before being caught up. Anyways, is it really worth getting the soundtrack? I'm not a big soundtrack fan so I would be getting it for Hayley only. In reading the interview, it mentions she vocalises on a few tracks. Can you hear her? Is it a few "ohhs" and "ahhs" and that's it? Sorry for all the questions, I know James Horner is a great composer, but I just don't want this for only Listen to the Wind. I could just get Prayer plus a couple other songs I don't have already. If it is a worth while Hayley release than I will just get the soundtrack. I hope you understand. Alicia PS I'm in a chatty mood. Sorry for the long post. Frenchie, I certainly understand, and I have never bought the soundtrack, either. The other vocalisations are very nice, too, but obviously I didn't find it worth buying the whole thing. I actually have Listen to the Wind on the Japanese compilation album, called Prayer. I'd recommend checking that out, because for many people, it's a great album to use to fill in the gaps that all the Odyssey and Treasure versions caused. I have 2 versions of each album, yet I still had songs missing! I hope Hayley never stands for such nonsense again!

Yes, I agree with Libby. If I could only have one or the other, and Wanted "Listen to the Wind" I would go for Prayer, which is an album of Hayley's film music. There are some tracks on there that are also on other albums it is true, but one or two rarities too.

Yes, Bridal Ballad, Jekyll, and Flood are on there, but 4 songs doesn't make it a film album. There is also the Last Rose of Summer from Celtic Woman, You Are Water, May it Be, Summer Rain, There's a Sparkle in Your Eyes, and the West Side Story duet with Vittorio. I know there must be something else, but that's all I can think of for now. I guess Prayer must be on there, too. I have that on Odyssey, so if I play the album Prayer, I'm doing so to listen to the songs I don't normally hear on other albums.

Thank you Libby and Martin for your advice and help. It seems to be equally agreed upon so far that the Prayer album is the way to go. I listened to Listen to the Wind again via Bob's link and it sure is a beautiful and top notch song. Like many songs in Hayley's catalog. I did a quick search on the web for both albums and the soundtrack is generally selling for more than Prayer. I'm a little surprised due to the fact both are oop CDs and prayer is an import. Alicia

Libby,
May it Be is film music as you well know (Lord of the Rings). Here Beside Me is from Disney's Mulan 2. I'm Kissing You is from Romeo and Juliet. I understood that film music was always supposed to be the theme of that album. No doubt they needed to add a few more tracks to fill it out.

Great find, Taylor! I've changed the link in Bob's post to James Horner's channel for copyright reasons. Richard

Martin D Well, Martin, you said Hayley's film music, and as you well know, May it Be and Romeo & Juliet are not Hayley's film music. They are just film music. So, what you said originally does not hold true. And so I forgot about Here Beside Me. I never listen to it. I'm glad Hayley sang it, and I'm glad to have it on CD, but it obviously did her little good, and these days Disney songs don't do much, if anything for me.

Well Libby, OK. I'm not sure if some of the others were used in a film too, Prayer for example, I'm afraid I'm not a film expert. And if you are being pedantic. "Listen to the Wind" wouldn't count either since it was not used in the film. But really what I mean is music that was composed for a film, whether or not the version used in the film was actually Hayley's. That I'm sure is what the compilers of this album were trying to do. And I think they succeeded, it is an album I enjoy.

I'm very sad to hear that. I enjoyed his music and have the New World sountrack album that includes "Listen to the Wind". RIP James.

Sad news indeed! He created some very beautiful music. My Heart Will Go On & Listen to the Wind being two of those gems. A true talent! God bless his family and friends! God rest his soul. I wonder now unfortunately if Hayley will perform this beautiful gem in concerts? She is one of a handful, I'm sure, that has a Horner original in her catalogue. Alicia
