I presume by Address Bar you mean the bit at the top with the thread title, post number and time? Er, no! I mean the Address bar at the top of the screen where you would type a url to access a site. Roger Duuuurrr!! That sound you just heard was the penny dropping!! At last he gets it!! Grant

Hello Grant! Congratulations on 1,500 posts, which makes you a triple Maestro! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAs Roger said, when you click on 'Link to Post', the url of that post should appear in the Address bar at the top of your browser, where you normally enter the url of any site you visit. You then copy that url and paste it into the post you want to link from. If it doesn't work on your computer, we're baffled! Best Wishes, Richard Thanks Richard And thanks for the further insight into the complex world of URL's (to me anyway!) I did eventually twig and am now feeling rather silly Best wishes Grant

Hi Joe,
I've done it again - double posted a thread. A suggestion for you to consider: Rather than lock and leave (useless) the duplicate thread, would it be better to amalgamate it with the original, i.e. transfer the responses to the duplicate to the original. Those with the interest in common could then get together on one (original) thread.
Is there an index to check before posting in order to avoid posting a duplicate thread?
Thanks,
Paddy

Individual posts in a thread can't be moved to join other posts. However, I can "quote" your post in a reply post. It's takes some time and looks pieced together, but it's the only way to join posts. I've tried it with your first "Evior" post.If you suspect that a singer, venue, etc. was mentioned here on the forum, you can always use the "search" button under the forum banner. Many thanks...and best wishes, Joe

Hello everyone This may be the wrong place to mention this and, if so, no doubt someone will move it, but ..... Since the Forum was upgraded, I've noticed one little niggle that's caught me out a couple of times. If I make a post and then immediately click on "View the 30 most recent posts" my latest post does not appear. When this first happened, I thought I'd probably hit 'preview' rather than 'post' and posted it again!! It does, however, immediately appear in the "Last Updated Topic" bar. Has anyone else noticed this and is there any way to stop it happening? Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, yes I have noticed it and I have not found a solution yet other than to refresh the page a couple of times or to re-log in !

Hi Grant,
I was unaware of the problem but that is because I rarely use the Last 30 facility. I have just experimented by making a test post which appeared immediately in the last 30. I am now mystified as to why it should work for me but not for you and Graham.
It sounds as though it is a problem with the Proboards software and therefore beyond our control. Hopefully, they will be aware of it and resolve the situation soon.

Best wishes Grant P.S 12.14am. I've just posted a comment to Thomas re Llandudno and my post appeared immediately! So the problem may have been resolved

Something's amiss ok! It took me 4 'refreshments' to see my last post in the last 30! Must have been alcoholic! Paddy

....... but that is because I rarely use the Last 30 facility. Hi Roger, if you don't use the last 30 facility do you always search back the number to your last visit then I ask because I find the last thirty very good when I am on for a reasonable time to see the recent posts. No change for the better for me, the last post is usually missing, if I post another then that is missing, but the previous one then appears. Repeated refreshing normally works but it can take 3 or 4 tries. Graham

...if you don't use the last 30 facility do you always search back the number to your last visit then Hi Graham, No, I almost always use the blue icons which denote a new post has been made to any particular board or thread: . That way, I can guarantee seeing every post in sequence rather than jumping from one topic to another. Roger
