Is it just my computer or have all the avatars on this forum suddenly gotten much bigger?

No it's not just you computer, someone. It's mine too. But usually, they revert to their normal size after a few seconds. If they don't refreshing the page seems to do it.
What's the cause Keith?

usually, they revert to their normal size after a few seconds. I went on the site for a couple of minutes yesterday, and they were like that too.

It is a size limit override code I have used to increase both height and width by 50%.
I have noticed the screen jump a few times myself but, it should revert almost immediately to a normal view.
If anyone is having any problems over this, please post it here and I will remove the code.

Hello Keith! Thank you for making the avatars bigger, I've now enlarged my picture of Hayley. Curiously the Preview screen now shrinks it, but that doesn't matter! See you next month, Richard

www.Hi Keith, I'm still small . It seems I can't make my avator any bigger, when I go into modify profile to change it to 150*150 is still returns up at 100*100. Any ideas?? Cheers, Emmett

Hi Emmett,
Yes. The image you are using for your avatar would have to be a minimum of 150 by 150 to fill the new limit. The one you are using is obviously sized to 100 by 100. Therefore, it will not resize.
Cheers, Keith.

Hi Keith,
Silly me, thanks for that information.
I'll sort that out now, great to see them larger now.

Hello Lothar! The red cross in your avatar means that the link in your profile to your chosen picture has broken. Possibly you have rearranged the album where the picture is, which has changed the url. I suggest you find your picture, copy its url, then log into the HWI Forum, click on "Profile" at the top of the screen, then click "Modify Profile", scroll down to "Avatar URL" and paste the new url to replace the old one, then click "Modify Profile" at the bottom of the screen. This should restore your avatar to normal, but you may need to adjust the width and height in your profile because it will probably default to 65 pixels square. The maximum size is 100 pixels square. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Richard, you wrote "Possibly you have rearranged the album where the picture is" I don't think so, but it is no problem to make a new upload, and put a new link in my profile. Greetings, Lothar

Hi Richard, you wrote "Possibly you have rearranged the album where the picture is" I don't think so, but it is no problem to make a new upload, and put a new link in my profile. Greetings, Lothar Hi Lothar, I have just tried to load your picture directly in Internet Explorer - by copying the link www.lothar-jurk.de/HW/HWI/LJ/lj.jpg into the address bar. This produces an error message "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found." Therefore, it seems to me that Richard is right... it isn't a Proboards error but the file either no longer exists, is no longer in the same place, or the file name has changed. Very strange! Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, many thanks for your support. Today I made an upload again and checked my avatar-URL. Everything was o.k., of course. So I was calling my provider hotline. They made a check and now it is working again. So I think it was a problem at the server of my homepage provider. Sorry. Regards, Lothar P.S. "NEVER CHANGE A RUNNING SYSTEM"
