To Keith or Simon, What has happened to the main Hayley Westenra International Web Site? Both last night and this morning, all I get is a message which says "This Domain has expired. Please contact your provider to renew." I managed to access the Forum by typing "Hayley Westenra International Forum" into Google. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the site will be back on line soon! Best Wishes, Richard

The plot thickens! Yesterday I managed to access the main site from a terminal in the Watershed Arts Centre in Bristol, but today I still can't get into it from the Internet Cafe in London! Has anybody got any ideas? Richard

It's been working fine for me Richard, certainly for the last 24 hours including now (just after noon, London time). Then again, I can't comment on what happened early this morning when you were up and about... because I wasn't! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hello again Dave! I don't know what's going on, but I couldn't get into the main site from the Easy Internet Cafe in Tottenham Court Road this morning, and now I'm finding the same thing in another branch in Kensington High Street this afternoon! All I get is a message saying "Hayley-westenra-international.com - This Domain has expired. Please contact your provider to renew". It looks as though there might be a problem with the server this end, but all the other sites seem to be working OK. Of course, these cafes are unmanned, which doesn't help. At least I can still work on the Forum! Hoping things will get back to normal soon, Richard

I certainly had no problem this morning, Richard. As far as I know, the site has been fine since it returned on Friday evening.

Hello Roger! I just beat you by a gnat's whisker with my reply to Dave. I take it the site was off for everybody on Friday then? Regards, Richard

From Simon's message on the main site, and the messages you described Richard, what happened was something like this: HWI forgot to renew the domain name subscription (due every two years, I think). On expiry, HWI was pulled from the Internet website Indexes by the domain name registrars, so your computer and mine were unable to locate it and we saw an error message. This has happened to some of the biggest companies on the Internet, by the way i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAfter a short time (possibly within a day - or even a few hours) the bill was paid and HWI was restored to the Internet indexes. The main Index is distributed to many hundreds and thousands of sub-indexes on computers around the World and sometimes, getting them all updated takes a day or two. Some are updated before others so I guess that whatever Index Roger's and my ISP were using were updated a few hours earlier than yours. Getting the wheels back on in a case like this is more like me and you doing it with one jack and a wheelbrace, and not at all like the way they do it in Formula One! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
