Hi Emil,
Welcome to the forum.
It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on Hayley's singing in Italian such as Santa Lucia and Lascia Ch'io Pianga. Can you fault her pronounciation at all? How does her singing compare to native Italian speakers?
Best wishes,
James

Hi James, thank you. Well, I heard many "italian" songs by Hayley and she's doing a great work.... I think her best italian singing is in Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partirò) with Andrea Bocelli. Ok, the exibition it's not perfect and Andrea makes some mistakes but her pronounciation is excelent, specially in the beginning. And she is still excellent in Vivo Per Lei.. maybe singing with Andrea makes her blood italian.. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSanta Lucia is singed very good too and it makes me smile everytime. O Mio Babbino Caro is pronounced allright, but the lyrics aren't easy to understand even for an italian singer. Lascia ch'io pianga loses some pathos in the end, but starts really well! Too bad she can't quite get the sad mood of the song...the pronounce, though, is perfect! My mom heard her singing it and thought it really was celtic...but she was kinda sleepy

I love some of the Italian songs, including Lascia Ch'io Pianga and Con Te Patiro

Welcome to the forum Emil. You will love it Andrea makes some mistakes Sorry for my asking, what were the mistakes that he made? Also, I always find that Bocelli pronounce the 't' and 'p' sounds different from Italian language samples that are on some Italian tutorials websites. The sounds he pronounces are closer to the English 't' and 'p' than the Italian ones. Am I mistaken? Thank you. Cheers, Raymond

Hi Raymond, in the Time To Say Goodbye Live At Gotta Skate V version with Hayley, Andrea makes a little mistake at the half of the song.. he sings "con te io li rivivrò" and Hayley "it's time to say goodbye". It's an Andrea mistake because both of them have to sing "it's time to say goodbye", like the original lyrics says. A little mistake but easy to notice. About his pronounce.. don't listen the tutorials websites He's from Lajatico, near to Pisa. Sometimes you can hear his axcent but his pronounce is simply perfect. The right way to pronounce "t" and "p" in italian. Emil

Thank you for your help, Emil. I thought the 't' and 'p' sounds are very confusing and it seems that Italians pronounce them in different ways, but I will now follow Bocelli's pronunciation of them. Raymond
