Finally a new Josh song, I really like this. I agree with the comparison to some of his earlier stuff, I really like the melody and message of this song. Can't wait for. New album now!

Yes, it's very singer-songwriterish. Which he has been for most of his career, but this has a more down-to-earth vibe to it than his past songs which he's written. I'm also really hoping he records the song he sang during his Stages tour in 2016, Run, by Snow Patrol. I'm listening to it now, and it's an exceptional tune, and he really expresses genuine emotion, and it just sounds so beautiful. It would be truly unfortunate if he didn't record it. He sang it as a duet with Sarah McLachlan for most of the tour, although Sarah was absent at the concert I went to (which is the video below). So I wonder if he would record it as a duet, possibly even with Sarah. Here's the rendition of the song from the concert I attended in Woodinville, WA!! I'm over farther to the right of the video, a little farther up in the rows.

I agree Libby he should definately record this song and a duet of it would be really good. I also forgot to say in my earlier post that I really like to hear Josh’s falsetto, it’s really strong considering he naturally has a low voice. I would love to see him live too.

I enjoy his falsetto, too, as long as he doesn't overdo it. There's one song on Illuminations that I do not like very much because he uses it too much. I think it's Love Only Knows. It isn't just that, though, I just don't particularly care for that song in general. That rarely happens on a Josh album; the only other time there was a song I avoided on his albums was on Closer, with Broken Vow. He sang it perfectly, but I found it too depressing, so I've really only put up with it at his concerts.
I know Josh has been working on album a little bit, so I'm not sure how soon an album could be out, but this release of a song is definitely encouraging.

So I take it that the album is probably coming out in September/October time frame. After hearing this song now a couple of times, it is really different from what he has done over the last several years. I personally think it's the guitar opening because he uses the piano quite a bit to open songs or even for intimate tunes. Like it though! It's so Josh, but it makes me wonder what the rest of the album will sound like!

I'm still wondering about that special tour bundle that a lucky Sarah Brightman fan received, though. I thought that would mean they'd announce something soon! How does a fan get a tour bundle if there's no tour?!

How does a fan get a tour bundle if there's no tour?! I don't know. The logistics are hard there, but that is Sarah's teams problem. Maybe Sarah was going to announce in March/April, but decided a couple different songs? All I can say is Sarah's team has to remember 1 name (so far) unless they decide to run that special tour bundle again. We will see....

Or, could they be doing the Japanese albums, which if I'm not mistaken, get to have extra songs?

Or, could they be doing the Japanese albums, which if I'm not mistaken, get to have extra songs? Yes they could be creating extra songs for different versions of the album. And maybe remixes... I looked the other day out of curiosity, and Sarah tends to release in Japan first then release in the USA. And several albums were released in April/May/June time frame.

Along with Gladys Knight, Josh will be headlining “Proms in the Park” on Saturday 8th September. This annual event held in Hyde Park, London runs in parallel to the Last Night of the Proms concert held at the Albert Hall. Other guests include Joseph Calleja, Lisa Stansfield and Matt Goss.

Thank you Martin! Wonder when Josh's new album will drop. It's either in September or October. I read an article and now I can't find it, but he states that the new album is a new twist from what he did on his first couple albums. Thought it was interesting comment since some of you also made the same comment here. Also, Josh will be hosting the Tony Awards next month! Tony Awards

Yes, thanks guys, I saw those pieces of news a week or 2 ago. We've all had little reason to visit here recently, so didn't take the time to post about these things.
I wondered when I saw the Hyde Park concert announcement if that meant he will be starting to promote an album then. He usually only does big things like that when he has something to promote.
Also, it appears from his recent stories/posts that he has a new girlfriend (new since at least a year or 2 ago), though nobody's sure who it is yet. They've recently been travelling through Japan, and we've seen little glimpses of her, but nothing very clear. Also, he actually used the words "my girlfriend" at least once in the past month... Though the first time I saw something, it was on April 1st, which means one needs to be careful what one believes. LOL

Josh's new single "Symphony" is getting quite a lot of airplay on BBC Radio 2 I've noticed.

An exciting video posted this evening; I'm not sure, but I think I heard snatches of at least 4 new songs, including Symphony. The first one at the beginning sounded really, really good! Well, they all did, but I think that one sounded the best to me. New music for 2018 is looking good. Mostly.
