Keedie is all over the tabloids again. They are all the outrage that she has had a "£1million record deal" with "two top twenty singles".

Yes, Nicola, I think that was predicatable. But are there rules that prevent established artists from auditioning? I don't think so. And a show like that is can't lose pubicity for any artist, look what it did for Faryl and Rhydian. Keedie was always less successful than her talent deserves in my opinion. She is a far better singer than Susan Boyle I think, and with the right exposure, she could become a household name.

It's a popularity contest, not a talent one. I'm not surprised with all the negative press that they decided to boot her out.
I have some inside info on how they treat their contestants as well. It's horrendous. I'm not watching that show ever again. Now that I did much in the first place... Hopefuls will do anything, it seems...

I guess Keedie just didn't fit whatever stereotype they were trying to force her into. I'm sure it had nothing to do with talent. I don't watch X-Factor by choice anyway.

Horrendous! How could they kick her out? She is hugely talented.
Just when I think that the TV addicted public will get to hear some real singing, I have it snatched from me. This really is dumbing down and I hate it. That's why I hardly ever watch TV these days.

Ah, the paper said it was Birmingham auditions today. That didn't happen. So I guess it must be next week?

Ah, the paper said it was Birmingham auditions today. That didn't happen. So I guess it must be next week? Hi Nicola, There is speculation that following Simon Cowell's apparent ban on Auto Tune from now on, they had to swap the shows planned for this week and next week because this week's had been mixed (auto tuned) already and would have to be re-edited from scratch. Whereas, the one originally planned for next week was at an earlier production stage and would be simpler to complete. Only speculation but it would make sense. Dave

Yes Nicola. They swapped the order of the shows because of the autotune problem. Simon Cowell has said autotune will not be used in future, so the show that Keedie was in needs to be redone I guess.

Not to create controversy--and we need to change threads if anyone wants to reply--but in my view Simon has shown true colours. This is the right attitude and his 'bullying' tactics are being properly used. I reckon, overall, he's pretty okay in this role.

For those who remember Keedie she is still around. And for those who know her, there is a Facebook based campaign to arrange for Keedie's mum Maria, who is dying of cancer, to see her daughter perform with Il Divo. You can add your support to this campaign if you like. www.facebook.com/groups/555953631160971/"This is about Maria Babb, who has been diagnosed with cancer and has only been given months to live. Maria's dream is to see her daughter Keedie (classical crossover soprano) perform with Il Divo with her and her family in the audience. I want to brainstorm ideas on how to make this happen. I know the Classical Crossover community are one of the most kindest and supportive people in the music world - let's come up with something together!" If you go to the above link you can add your name to the group. There are currently 5,169 members and that number is increasing rapidly. As one of those members, and one who has learned about cancer the hard way, I would like to ask you all to support Keedie in this if you can. Martin D
