Hello folks! I believe Fiona Pears is touring with Libera in the USA at the moment. Richard And Ian Tilley, hence Hayley's backing group at Buxton. Graham

Hi all, Libera have just performed "Sanctus" for 50,000 people in a pre-concert event leading up to Pope Benedict XVI's mass at Yankee Stadium, The Bronx, NY. It's unclear whether Fiona Pears or Ian Tilley were present.
Also, Libera will be performing at Riverside Church, New York City on Thursday, April 17. The Riverside Church is located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side near Columbia University. Visit the website below for more info and directions. www.theriversidechurchny.org/

Hi Joe - Libera already performed at The Riverside, and feedback was positive as at their other US concerts on their first tour stateside. Today they performed 'Sanctus' and despite the elements (wind/sun) causing problems with the mic's, they were really good. See uk.youtube.com/watch?v=e1Ppu1GQjVg I watched the whole of the pre-mass concert, and other artists had problems with their microphones, so it seemed to affect most of the performances.

Thanks for that YouTube link, liberated! Looked like Ian and Fiona were not with the group. Here is a slightly longer clip , Libera are announced to the croud again. Libera began the concert about 45 minutes before "Sanctus". An interview was being conducted and one could hear the group in the background. Joe

Hi all, At many of the movie theaters in the USA, there are usually a half-dozen trailers (a clip of upcoming movies) shown before the featured movie. Before the new Indiana Jones movie, there was a trailer of a movie called "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". Libera's song "Lacrymosa" was played during the trailer. The song is based on "Aquarium", part of "The Carnival of the Animals" by Saint-Saëns. As the "Benjamin Button" movie won't be out until December, we'll have to wait and see! Edit: There is a mention of the song for the movie on one of the pages of Internet Movie Data Base. It doesn't mention Libera though. From this link, the cast and crew of the movie are available.

Certainly one to keep an eye out for, thanks Joe. It will be great for Libera if a big heavyweight movie with an impressive cast list, features one of their recordings for the movie soundtrack.

If anyone has booked their holidays anywhere in the beautiful WestCountry of England at the end of July, they might want to pop into Torquay on July 30th and see Libera perform one of their amazing live concerts at St John's Church.. www.stjohntheapostle.org.uk/

A little quick recap of what Libera have been doing since I last posted; They had their highly succesful concert in Torquay during their Choir Summer Holidays in Devon. Some of our French friends have posted a little video of the meet and sign at the end of the concert... uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mTGfINYcExA...and you can see the pictures they took, posted on their website ... pagesperso-orange.fr/libera-dream/ds_photos.htmlAnd the BBC were filming at St John's in Torquay so there are indications that Libera may be documented in a 35min feature on their Songs of Praise program at the end of January. I will be looking forward to that. Hopefully they will chart the history of St. Philips/Angel Voices/Libera since their humble beginnings.

Yes Joyce it is perfect music for Xmas. A supermarket used one of the tracks for their advert. I do find though that like a lot of things at Xmas (brandy butter, mince pies, Xmas pud etc) I do feel rather satisfied after a while and I can't imagine listening to the album in the middle of summer which means it will stay on the shelf for another 11 months !!
