Hi Bill The picture you have posted is very small, the forum will take images up to 800 pixels wide but you could use that size as you avatar! Best wishes Grant P.S. 'Beauty and the Beast' has been done before! Thanks Grant, I blame George for his inadequate instructions re Photobucket. . Only joking! Anyway, I've resized it, so hopefully you can see me (and more importantly, Hayley) without the need for the magnifying glass. Regards Bill

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Hi Bill and a very warm welcome to the Forum from one of your mentors (or should that be tormentors? ) I promise you won't regret it. I won't rub it in that you've only been to five Hayley concerts, but when you've been to a few more and Hayley gets to know you a little bit better, you'll realise that she loves to tease. She pretended to walk away from me at Shrewsbury when I told her that I hadn't brought chocolate! It's just the way she is and how she shows her affection for "her guys" and the reason we love her. Join the club! Best wishes Grant I think I've rubbed Hayley up the wrong way from the get go. The first time I met her was at Stoke-on-Trent. Also, the first time I met you. I think meeting Hayley was a more enjoyable experience, although it's a close call. The first words I said to Hayley were, 'Hello, you don't sound as good live as you do on record...' . She looked a bit confused before I said to her the punchline, 'you sound so much better live!'. I think those of us lucky enough to have heard her live would disagree with that! When I met her later at Shrewsbury Abbey, she remembered that 'joke' so when I asked her for a photo (the one on page 1), she said 'No!'. A bit like the way she reacts to you when you see her chocolate-less!

Hello Bill, It's always nice to hear how people recall their first meeting with Hayley. Although I've been to only one of Hayley's concerts, I've never met her face to face. I'll probably be all a-quiver and crying tears of joy Joe

Hi Bill Its great to see you here - at last. It was a real pleasure to meet you at Beverley and I'm sure we will meet up again at a Hayley concert somewhere. You never know, maybe she took your request on board and she will get to a few venues in and around Manchester sometime soon. I look forward perhaps to hearing how you first became a Hayley fan and to your future posts. Very best wishes Mark Thanks Mark, Great meeting you as well. You're different to most people in Finance. You exhibited a sense of humour. For evidence, see the post I've made on the Beverley Minster thread (Page 12). I'm going to have to press Hayley every time I see her re playing Manchester. BM was the fifth time and I've had to travel at least 50 miles to see her. I did tell her at Shrewsbury Abbey that I was going to send her a bill for the upkeep of my car. She said, 'speak to my Tour Manager!'. Oh, and THAT picture is there as well now. Regards Bill

Most of us leave those little moments until she's got used to us. I'm afraid to say your card is probably marked for good :rollin Me thinks she won't let you forget that in a hurry I think the remedy is an apology and flowers - lots of flowers; but not lillies! They put Hayley in hospital apparently!

I waited an hour to meet her because I was happy to last in line. When it was my turn, my heart was 'going like the clappers' (an English expression). However, as soon as you speak with her, it's not 'The Pure-voiced, International Singing Superstar Hayley Westenra', it's 'The very friendly and normal Hayley'. Any HWI member who has met Hayley will testify to that I'm sure. I hope this puts you at ease for the day when you do meet her. Oh, and have your camera ready so you can get a good picture! Regards Bill

Grade B GCSEs are given away like cheap confetti. I think you get the point I was making. When I first heard Hayley at Harrogate, the MC introduced her by saying 'She looks and sings like an Angel'. After the show, I was thinking, 'Now, that WAS a gross understatement'! Never been a flower giver, so my act of redemption was the Bob Dylan CDs. They might last longer too! Regards Bill

Hi Bill So we have English classes at HWI now do we! Can't say we don't give value for money!! Back to the original point; I would say that one should either say " would agree" or "wouldn't disagree" Any English majors out there care to take us up on this debate? Best wishes Grant

Best wishes Grant Grant, Let's not worry about grammar or spelling. After all, Hayley never writes the 'e' when she signs her name. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I know because she's signed most of my CD sleeves. Shame the 6 copies of West Side Story arrived after we met Hayley at BM. At least it'll give me reasons to see her again. Regards Bill
