Hi Chris.

Delighted to welcome you. I hope you will find what you were hoping for here in terms of Hayley support, admiration and something perhaps you might not expect, unless you have been lurking for awhile, an extraordinary camaraderie.

There are three types here.

• There is a very fortunate UK lot who manage frequent physical interactions in varying combinations of members (and group size);
  
• Ditto above but usually more rare and smaller numbers (twos and threes) around the world;
  
• The overall camaraderie of the whole group for whom geographical location is irrelevant and who all have their chance (some waiting longer than others) to give us their reports of 'Hayley in my home town' well, almost.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I just finished reading and looking through the pictures of Graemek and Dori. That must have been one special day for the both of you. I could only dream of the chance to meet her as I don't know if she would ever make it over to my neck of the woods (Riverview/Moncton, NB to be exact). Although I suppose you never know, she has been close (New York City).

A very warm welcome from your Southern friend (one of many from the States). I trust that you will find all and more of what you expect here on the forum (I certainly have). Some of us have never met Hayley (me), some of us (cough "Richard") have met her 18 times!! Hello Chris,

Hayley travelled to Cape Breton just last October. Just a skip across the strait for you. She sang at one of the Celtic Colours Festival performances (with Natalie MacMaster).

Living in Atlantic Canada as you do, I'm sure you're familiar with many east coast musicians. I trust you have heard of The Cottars and of Aselin Debison. You'll find lots info of about them on the 'other music' board!

Welcome aboard. I'm relatively new to this forum myself and was delighted to find such a nucleus of stron Hayley supporters. When I first discovered Hayley for myself I began to ask my friends and acquaintances if any of them had ever heard of her. None had. Even after introducing them to her and actually having some success in fostering interest in her I still felt alone in that I am a rabid fan. This forum permits me to spend time with other Hayleywowed folks like myself. It serves as a support group that actually encourages my addiction.

I hope you have as much fun here as I have had.

I first discovered the world of Hayley Westenra by way of a PBS special on TV of Celtic Woman. Now don't get me wrong, all of the woman of Celtic Woman are extraordinary (I must have watched the special five or six times over the next few days before finally purchasing the DVD) but for me, it was all about Hayley.
When Hayley came down the ramp to sing Scarborough Fair (gorgeous by the way), I believe that was the moment that I became Hayleywowed/Westenwowed and Hayley had only been singing for about 20 seconds. After watching Hayley perform Lascia Ch'io Pianga and The Last Rose of Summer, I knew I was hooked. I don't believe I blinked the entire time. I had never before seen that combination of perfect voice and exceptional beauty.
It's safe to say that she is at the top of my list of favourites.
