Hello everyone, Hayley Westenra will be at London's National Gallery on October 24, 2007 to impart useful tips to young singers. More info HERE or read below. Who's going? Portraits by renowned photographer Rankin of the best established and new acts in British music, including Faithless, Goldie, Hailey Hayley Westenra, Beverly Knight, Pull Tiger Tail, Lil Chris and Courtney Pine - all wearing the signature Youth Music headphones - are also on show on the day. Thanks for the information, Stephany! I've put this in my diary, so I just might wander down to the National Gallery on the day. I'm probably a bit too old to attend the workshops though! Best Wishes, Richard

Best Wishes, Richard Don't be deterred Richard - age discrimination is illegal now in the UK. I work quite close to the gallery so I might bump into you. Martin

Hi Richard & Martin
I may just be tempted to come down too. Any chance, however remote, to see Hayley is worth the effort.
Guess we'll have to talk about times and meeting up later.
Incidentally, and at the risk of going off topic, isn't this the day before Hayley's book launch?
Best wishes Grant

Incidentally, and at the risk of going off topic, isn't this the day before Hayley's book launch? Absolutely, Grant. It would be nice if she could do a signing session in a bookstore, don't you think? To get back on topic, I am also tempted to come over because I've got no classes on Wednesday. Provided that we are allowed to enter and watch Hayley giving lessons to the young musicians because there's no way I'm entering these singing workshops Stephany

Best Wishes Martin ps If Hayley is signing in London the following day you might want to stay overnight?

Hello Martin, Grant, Stephany and everybody! We could easily meet at lunchtime, if not before. There's a café and a coffee bar in the National Gallery. Best Wishes, Richard

A word of caution! Hayley is unable to attend this event on the 24th and will be replaced by All Angels. I emailed Liam Fay from 'Youth Music' and he told me that Hayley will NOT be at the National Gallery on October 24th, 2007. Stephany

Hi Stephany This is an interesting piece of news. I think we all assumed Hayley would return to the UK for a few days between New Zealand and Japan, for this event and for the book launch. I wonder if this means she will now fly straight to Japan? Ouch! With no book signing to look forward to, we'll not see her again until December! Maybe Roger or Dave can throw some light on this. Love Grant xxx

I wonder if this means she will now fly straight to Japan? It appears so, Grant. But I find it surprising that a signing is not planned for her book launch. However, it means that she will be able to rest in New Zealand and avoid too many flight trips in a short period of time. December Love, Stephany

Good!! she needs a rest and to stay in sort of the same time zone will help. Not to bring a damper on you'll seeing her but she has had a long year and needs this. Monte

Monte It's only an assumption Monte and knowing Hayley, she won't be extending her rest break but working even harder. Best wishes Grant

If you're under 18 you're more than welcome to attend, and it's free! Oh dear Grant! That rules out you and me (just). Martin

I''m sorry for everybody who planned to go. Hayley's first concert in Japan is only a little more than a week after 24th October so it seems to be a lot easier for her to fly directly to Japan. She deserves a break and December is not too far away. Thomas
