Lurker joins the fray

Hello to all. I’ve been lurking here for nearly a month and finally decided to join in. As an introduction, my brother clued me in to Hayley Westenra after he first saw her on Celtic Woman. He fell in love, but then he’s single and I’m not, so I have to behave. In any event I find Hayley extraordinary in every way. I believe Pure is the greatest debut album I’ve ever heard, and I’m simply at a loss for words knowing she was 15 when she recorded it. And as celebrities go, I’m sure I’ve never encountered anyone quite like Hayley.

The stories you all tell of meeting and speaking with her are consistent with what one observes in her interviews and appearances. I frankly don’t know how she maintains as she does, but then there are a lot of things about Hayley that I can’t find an explanation for. That such talent, beauty, grace and genuine decency are all to be found in one human being is breathtaking. In fact for me, Hayley is the very personification of that word – breathtaking. I look forward to chatting with you all on this excellent forum.

Hi Socalboy and welcome to this fantastic forum! I myself am a newbie but everyone is extremely lovely and friendly so no doubt you'll find this place delightful.

It's funny because I discovered Hayley in a very similar way. My little sister was a fan of that Japanese anime Hayley sang into and she became interested in her other work. She was also a Celtic Woman fan from the very beginning so when she heard Hayley joined the team for a concert, she was extremely thrilled and told me about it.

Subsequentely, I ordered "Pure" and "Odyssey" for my little sister. And guess who else was enchanted by her singing? Obviously, it was me. I became an immediate fan and then ordered "Treasure" and "Celtic Woman : a new journey" CD+DVD (I'm still expecting the goods!). I also got the New Zealand Live DVD which blew me away. Breathtaking is an excellent definition, Socalboy.

Now, I'm truly looking forward to hearing her other work. And this forum is definitely the place to be to be the first to know!
