Hi David and everyone else, Yes you can see a picture of the aeroplane which David is learning to fly in within the photography thread here. How ironic... the "Flying Scotsman" flies a Piper PA38 Tomahawk... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLast week David showed me the pilot's logbook which he carefully maintains and updates before and after every flight. David suggested a brilliant idea last week- in the future he may very well consider organising a sponsored flight in order to raise money for charity. David will no doubt review this thought and will know when the time is right for this though! Andrew As one who has enthusiastically declared his support and appreciation for the skirl of the Scottish pipes, maybe I can get away with this one (even if technically it ought to be under 'What Makes You Laugh'... and bein a Sassenauch (if I've spelt that correctly? Do you know why pipers always walk or march when playing the bagpipes? Answer in next post. Peter S.

Hi Folks
On the bagpipes subject, There was a beautiful piece of music called "David's song" which was the theme music to Kidnapped the tv series,
around 1979 by Vladimir Cosma on the famous decca label. not easy to get now unfortunately.

Hi folks, just thought I'd share the news that I successfully passed my choir audition the other night! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif No chance of this Piper retreating into the distance any time soon! A sponsored flight for charity would be a great thing to do once I have my licence, depending of course on when that is! Such flights are indeed officially sanctioned, as usual covered by various rules etc., but well worth doing! Cheers The Flying Scotsman
