Greetings All, I have some rather good news for you all... Another new member from Edinburgh, Scotland is due to be signing up to 'HWI' very shortly! After choir practice last night I was discussing Hayley's music with another second tenor in our choir (Edinburgh Royal Choral Union) over a nice cool drink... I'll say no more for now and let him introduce himself to you all... Watch this space! Andrew

Hi everyone, here I am at last, another Scottish HWI member! Had drinks with Andrew after choir practice last Tuesday when he told me all about this after finding out I was a fan of Hayley's music. Anyway, my name's David, live and work in Edinburgh doing Computer Aided Draughting for an engineering consultancy , I'm also a second tenor with the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union (at least I think I am...) and I'm a big fan of classical music. Oh, and I'm also taking flying lessons!!! Hope this helps, & hopefully I'll be in touch again soon! Cheers everyone! David

Hi David, Mark, Roger and Marianne! Yes it's great to have David onboard the "good ship" 'HWI' with us now too! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif David I see that you have got off to a flying start! Well you are certainly among friends here - you will encounter some razor sharp wit from some of the other members here, so let me be the first to warn you! Enjoy yourself... Until now one of my nicknames was "The Flying Scotsman"... but I think you've now acquired that title- Hey can we take your private plane and follow Hayley across the UK on her next Tour? I guess I'll have to settle for one of my other nicknames I suppose... "Jock the Croc" !!! David and I are on the look out for some more Scots recruits now... Watch this space! Andrew

Hello David, and welcome to the Forum! It's great to see another member from Scotland, and you'll have to take over from Andrew as the Flying Scotsman. If you come to one of Hayley's shows in London, I'll see if I can get one of the platforms at King's Cross converted to a runway for you! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifYou've certainly landed in the right place, and I look forward to your future posts. Best Wishes, Richard

Delighted to welcome you, David. As a confirmed Sassenauch (if I've spelt that corrtectly!?) you will find I am a most enthusiastic supporter of many of our friends north of the border--their customs and above all the skirl of their pipes--as well as their lovely damsons dressed for a formal jig.

Hi David and welcome to the forum! You've chosen the right place here being a Hayley fan. You will find many people here with the same interest even for your interest in flying planes. I have a glider pilot licence which has brought me a lot of fun to fly silently without an engine just to enjoy the time high above the ground. Unfortuneately I gave it up last year. It became too expensive and, even worse, too time consuming. You just can't have it all. So, enjoy your time here. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

Hi Everyone, Thanks to all of you for your kind words, looking forward to many more posts on the forum in future! Hopefully won’t be too long before I see you guys at concerts! Guess once I have my own private jet I’ll be taking you all places with me… (would love to try gliding one of these days though!) Cheers! Thank you Andrew for doubling the size of the Scottish contingent! Hello David! A very warm welcome to you, sir! Yes, I'm glad that, for the forum, Scotland is INvolved and not DEvolved! Thanks for introducing yourself; I can tell that you'll be a regular contributor here on the forum! Best regards, Joe

Hi All, Right now there are 2 'HWI' members from Scotland logged on at the same time... The other day David sent me photo of the plane which he flies regularly... David do I have your permission to post up (tiddley-up-up) a picture for all to see the "Flying Scotsman's" magnificent aircraft? Wheel blocks away... Andrew

Hi David and everyone else, Yes you can see a picture of the aeroplane which David is learning to fly in within the photography thread here. How ironic... the "Flying Scotsman" flies a Piper PA38 Tomahawk... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLast week David showed me the pilot's logbook which he carefully maintains and updates before and after every flight. David suggested a brilliant idea last week- in the future he may very well consider organising a sponsored flight in order to raise money for charity. David will no doubt review this thought and will know when the time is right for this though! Andrew
