Thanks for another fine review Keith.
Of all the reviews I have written for HWI, I found my Odyssey review was, bar far, the easiest. Having played the CD twice, I put it on for a third time and the words just flowed. It required very little thought and I felt that Hayley was truly inspiring me to write. Did you notice that?

Er! Perhaps just a little. That's the thing with Hayley, she not only inspires you to write, you find it difficult to stop. At least, that's the way it affects me. Cheers, Keith.

Good to see you were able to pick it up in HMV, was it only released now as an import?? I'm still waiting for my 2 copies from NZ. Bad Irish post Hello Emmett! Yes, the version on sale in HMV is imported from Australia. I'm not sure how many copies there are in the UK, but Denis has bought one in Manchester this morning. I'm hoping the import version won't affect sales of the UK version when it is released next month. I hope your copies arrive from New Zealand soon. See you again soon, Richard Hi Richard, Thanks for that help. It was looking for a moment that the quickest way I would get a copy of 'Odyssey' was to fly to London, But, YES it finally arrived this morning, how come things always arrive when you are up to your eyes in work? Anyway I had a quick listen to most of the tracks and I was amazed, the samples don't do it any justice. Hopefully later I can sit down and listen to it fully. My only disappointmentwas the cd booklet. If you could call it a booklet more of a page that folds up. I hope they sort this out for the UK release, surely they could fill it with some new photos or print the lyrics. Interesting to see Luton FC got a thanks, I wonder if Hayley a fan?? As Roger said, you don't need to worry about us! Go ahead and "tell it as it is", I know you will be making some very interesting points and I can't wait to read your review I have some points (or curiosities) of my own about Odyssey that I haven't raised yet... but I will, when I'm ready! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I should put my review soon but I am still trying to get what my feelings on some of the songs are and some other stuff. The stuff that I am going to bring up is my no means to say that I did not enjoy the cd I do enjoy it but I think she still needs to grow as a singer and musican. She still needs to work on some stuff.

I was going to post part of my review but it did not post saw I am going to wait to tomorrow. And the frist part was long.
I am going to give you some hints to how the review would be like. Payer was a high point and Ave maria also was a high point and a low point was Dell amore no si sa.

Here is the my review.
the prayer-love this song and I think she is singing it very good. She sounds like a angel in part of it. But I do think a part of it got a little soft. And I think the sound of the music is very nice and it is plays very good. This is one of my favs on the cd. I think this song is very touching.
Never saw blue like that- I have always love this song. But I think with the pace on hers it is a little slow and I think she does not show as much feeling as what could be but it is still a nice song .
Dell'amore Non Si Sa-this was a low point for me on the cd. I think she should of not have AB do it with her he has not add anything special to it . And his part sounds like it was taking from his cd. There is a part of the editing that sounds odd. Put I do like it how Hayley sung most of it in engish that gave it a nice feel . But this was still a low piont and I think it should not be put on the UK or USA one but I do not think that is going to happen.
Ave Maria (Caccini)- With this song she also sounds like a angel and I love the music of this song I have always . I would one play love to hear it with out any voical. This is also another one of my favs.
Both sides how- nice song but over done.
What you never know (Won't Hurt You) - This song I do not know how to feel about it . I think it sounds to much like Sarah Brithman. I know she add some stuff but not that much and i would have to say I do not like the song any better than what I did. The end of it is very nice I would linten to that part over and over. But not the song.
May It Be - I just love it and I think she did it better than eyna. This song was a high point .
Quanta Qualia - Really nice song the choir was very good the music was great Hayley sounded nice but I think there were parts were the choir out shined her.
Bachianas- nice music I think with some of this song her voice sounds too good to be true some of it to me sounds like there was some stouio work done. But that is me.
She Moves Through The Fair - I just love this song and I do not know why they would what to take this song off. I would not take this song off. I love everything with it. very nice.
I Say Grace - This song is very nice she does let her voice go some but I think she chould of let it go a little more and have a little more feeling.
My Heart Belongs To You - I love this song a lot.
now I was not to into the prodution. I think there was to much time going into another song . There was to much time song to song. Some of the editing was add. Some of the songs choses could of been better. But I think much of the music was do better than pure but this is what I think some of these songs I could linten to with out the words.

Thank you for a fine review Kimberly! Now I've listened to "Odyssey" a few more times, my list of favourite tracks is very similar to yours. I definitely agree that "May It Be" is one of the outstanding tracks, just as it is on Hayley's DVD. I haven't heard Enya's version yet, but Hayley sings it beautifully with one voice, while Enya usually multi-tracks her voice to sound like a choir. To me Hayley's voice is particularly outstanding on the classical and Celtic tracks, but I do like the youthful sound of the softer voice she uses on some of the poppier songs. I think as she gets older her pop voice may change more than her classical voice, which will continue to grow stronger. I expect many of us will have more comments to make on this version of "Odyssey", then we can start all over again when the UK version comes out next month! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Thank you Kimberly. It is always interesting to hear other people's opinions. I agree with most of what you said in your review but, funnily enough, I thought the gap between tracks was unusually short!
