Hello Scott and welcome to the forum. You have summed up very well the feelings that many of us share about Hayley's voice. Indeed, words just can't explain. That's why there are only 22,000 posts on this forum! I look forward to reading your reviews of Pure and the DVD. Best wishes, Roger

Hi Scott, I understand what you mean when you mentioned the 'Falling for you' bit in 'What You Never Know' (the part which Hayley co-wrote).

Jon, like I said in my review, the part where she sings "I'm Falling...for you" was so dazzling that I really did not pay proper attention to the other lyrics until about the third time that I heard the song. Then I wondered how I could have missed the rest of the song - I felt a connection to those lyrics which amazed me. It was a song I needed to hear at this time and this stage of my life. My thanks to Hayley for providing me with it

Hi Scott,
Yes, that was the part of the song Hayley wrote herself. It my be a few simple words, but like you said, it has a spell-binding effect.

Almost any song by Sarah Brightman is spell-binding. 'What You Never Know' however, irritated me on 'Harem'. It was just so repetitive, it needed something else and Hayley added that something else. I can listen to Hayley's version, but not Sarah's. I prefer Sarah's voice to it though; it's just a shame that the bit Hayley wrote into it wasn't on Sarah's original version. Although it was really small - it says a lot about Hayley's artistic skills. I think Hayley recognised how beautiful the song could be, it just needed an extra touch; the fact that she was able to recognise this is a good indication to her creative flair. And it was such a beautiful bit of the song too.

Nicola,
I never heard the Sarah Brightman version of this song. But I can imagine what it would be without the "I'm Falling...", and I would agree, it seems it would be repetitive.
Although that portion of the song is my favorite portion, I do love the whole song and everything about it.

Hi Marianne
I received my copy of the US release of Odyssey this morning which I bought specifically for "You Are Water"
What a fantastic song!!!! It's almost a rock ballad (I'm sure someone will correct me on that!) and very different to the Hayley that we are used to.
I have to say 'I love it!!'
Before jumping in with both feet, I looked up the US track listing thread and now know why it was included - very interesting story!
Thanks again Scott for your review which lead me to discover where this track was!!
