Hmv.au has sound clips for all the songs. Thank you for the information Kimberly! The 30 second sound clips are all absolutely stunning, so here is a link to the relevant page on HMV Australia's web site:- www.hmv.com.au/product/classical.asp?sku=984816I'm going to show a complete lack of originality and say ENJOY! Bye for now, Richard

I have just played the clip of 'She Moved Through The Fair'. To be honest, I have never really liked this song but I have a feeling that I will soon grow to love it. Hayley's voice sounds as good on that clip as I have ever heard it. Emmett, I would value your opinion on this. Listen carefully for the words "stepped away" in that clip. Do I detect a hint of an Irish accent there? Roger Hi Roger, I just had a listen to it and what a great track. First time hearing it and I'm very impressed. It does have a big celtic sound I think. And were she does sing 'stepped away', Yes, I did get a hint of an Irish accent. Alot of the other singing sounded like that too. It's kind of the style that I've heard some traditional Irish male singers doing. Emmett

Thanks Emmett, that confirms what I thought. I imagine she has been listening to other versions of the song and subconsciously picked up the accent. It happens to the best of us, you know! Roger

I think many singers adapt their accent to where the song originated.. or the genre... or even to who first sung it! I know my daughter tends to sing American songs with an American accent and when she first did it, it was rather disconcerting! But not any more, I'm used to it. By the way, thanks to receiving the album, I've discovered the source of the mysterious "I Say Grace", it's from an album "Early Midlife Crisis" by New York singer-songwriter Andrew Fortier. As far as I can tell, the album is only available direct from his website, where there's an mp3 clip of it here. Hayley's version is nicer

Hi everyone, I just received my Japan copy of ODYSSEY in the mail. Besides a different cover it contains three additional songs: - Bridal Ballad (from "The Merchant of Venice") - The Mummers' Dance (by Loreena McKennitt) and - Wiegenlied With best wishes from Bavaria Holger

Hi Holger, Great to see you got a copy, hopefully my one will be with me soon. Do you know if the inside booklet is any different or just the same as the folded over version that came with the Australian version?? Cheers, Emmett i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Emmett , yes, the booklet contains an inlay with the lyrics in both English and Japanese, except for "Bachianas Brasileiras" and "Wiegenlied". I hope you receive your copy soon, I had ordered from cdjapan.co.jp. Have a nice weekend! Holger

Hi Holger, Thanks for the information. Good to see they have included the lyrics with the inlay, so hopefully they might do the same for the UK version and also give us some more photos. You ordered from Cdjapan.co.jp, typical I was going to order from them and then I went to Hmv.co.jp but at least its in the post at the moment i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif. Have a good weekend too . Cheers, Emmett

This one is a bootleg. The translation of 'Odyssey' is the same title we used in Hong Kong. But the translation of 'Hayley Westenra' is the name used in Mainland China. I can tell it is a bootleg because they use traditional Chinese characters on it. In Mainland China, simplified Chinese characters are used. It is a common habit for bootleg producers in Mainland China to use traditional Chinese characters on bootlegs they made to show that the bootlegs they made are not bootlegs.
It is also written at the back of the CD that 'this CD is recorded and upgraded by Sony. So I know this is a bootlet.

It certainly looks to me like a countefeit/bootleg CD set.
I wonder, should we email Ebay to try and get it removed... or report it to Decca who might be *very* interested in this?

Hi All,
Double albums like show up regularly on E-bay. Please be advised that album number 2 is not by Hayley, but by .... Sarah Brightman. The first track on that one is a give-away: Harem.
I know of combinations of Charlotte Church and Sarah Brightman, and even Hayley Westenra and Charlotte Church. Invariably, the entire collection is ascribed to one performer.

Thanks to Raymond for the early warning on this one and also to Gerrit for clarifying what the item really is.
I rarely even look at E-bay, but am I not right in thinking one can put questions to the seller? If so, perhaps someone would like to make a diplomatic enquiry about the lead vocalist on CD2. (?)

There are several of these 'special discs' floating around. I learned my lesson after I purchased the 35 track version of "Amore Musica" by Russell Watson.
The second disc in this case was the UK edition of Russell's album, "Reprise" which I didn't mind, in fact I was quite enthusiastic about it.
When I received the album it wouldn't play in my CD player and kept stopping. I managed to rip all but one of the tracks onto the computer. When I did I realized that about 5 (including the one I couldn't rip to my computer) were actually Andrea Bocelli fillers.
Now, I might mention that I am very much NOT a fan of Andrea Bocelli and these fillers especially made me upset because I would never have expected them - on a Russell Watson album of all things!
As you can imagine I wasn't happy and when I wrote to the seller she said she would take it back but she wanted me to show her the scratches or whatever wasn't letting the CD be played in a normal CD player. Well, this is crazy but it doesn't have any. It looks perfect but it just wouldn't play - and so, I can't get my money back.
I saw another one this time a 35 track version of "Everything and More" Billy Gilman's new album and I'm pretty sure these all come from the same seller and their all fake.
Sorry for the long post but I thought I'd just tell you a little about my indignation! LOL. So in short, don't buy this "Odyssey" CD.
