Your No 74 Danny makes me ask if the musicians had changed at all. Solely because subsequent offline chat led me to believe there was some major travelling for Fiona and Ian towards the end of this calendar year. Hello Peter! Fiona and Ian will be in New Zealand from October. Their full schedule is HERE. Richard

I love the sound of The Harbour Light Theatre, Lyttleton.
As you will have realised Richard I have caught up and realised I was correct on the change and it seems as good as ever a programme.

Aah! She's in Aberdeen on Sunday so, NOT TOO LATE a night. Hotel in Stoke mid-morning run in car to Aberdeen with dodgy train schedules? Hello Peter Last year, Hayley was heading to Jersey after the Stoke concert and I'm pretty sure she headed for Manchester airport for a flight to Jersey the following morning. My money would be on a similar arrangement this year and a morning flight to Aberdeen. I assume British Airways still operate their Aberdeen service from Manchester. Flights now operated by BMI. The train would be a non-starter. Even from London, the first through train of the day takes almost 10 hours and arrives in the Granite City at 6.46pm! Best wishes Grant

Thanks for your contribution, Grant.
I've got myself into a right old muddle by suddenly getting myself Hayley-excited! As something has just cropped up in a manner in which I hoped it would not, I shall now settle for a gentle meandering weekend and tomorrow see how else i can get excited later in the year, having assessed what tickets are available.
Dunfermline is tempting as i have never travelled over the Forth bridge (rail) before. That was a schoolboy dream in the days of steam. I have also discovered why I couldn't get a direct through train to Dunfermline! It is obvious when you look at the rail map. Perhaps I am not quite up to organizing intricate journeys. Do you know, I never thought of air! Possibly because liking trains I have never been inclined towards air for inland flights but I do love the journey connotations with airports (transatlantic). For the CI I took the ship (I had the car) and for France I take the hover.

Hello Peter and everybody! If you're travelling to Stoke-on-Trent by train from the south and see the Forth Bridge, you're on the wrong train! Richard

Hi again I have just realised in looking through this thread that I hadn't declared the fact that I was going - I am in seat C15, right on the aisle, so not a bad view I hope. It does seem a long while since I last saw Hayley, ok so it was only the 7th August, but we still have almost a month until this concert. I have also been quite distracted lately as we are having some building work done here at home, including a new kitchen and everything is covered with a thin layer of brick dust I am looking forward to seeing Hayley and my HWI friends in Stoke. I am up for getting there early if anyone else has had the same thoughts - it would be quite nice to welcome Hayley if possible. Best wishes Mark.

Hi Tim and everyone
I can be in Stoke at any time really as it's only an hours drive for me. There is a handy car park opposite the venue and I seem to recall it was quite large and reasonably priced (at least for the evening).
Don't know whether the sound check would be possible, but I guess we could be there to greet Hayley anyway. No doubt Danny will be able to provide some information nearer the time if he is permitted to.
I'm really missing Hayley at the moment and looking forward this concert.
Best wishes Grant

Hi all, A good bit of news is the surface car park opposite the venue is now free after 6pm so it wont cost you too much! Grant is correct in that there will be no soundcheck listening, even the venue stewards dont get a listen, the differences between a concert hall and an outdoor concert. Im not allowed to tell you anything about Hayleys travel arrangements or times of arrivals etc. and ideally we do ask that you dont wait around outside the stage door before or after the cocnert for safety reasons, its a very narrow drive/car park which is used constantly by staff and delivery vehicles and we have been asked to try and minimise people waiting outside. Hayley should be doing a signing session afterwards again, yet to be confirmed, and if so im happy for you to stand and take pictures etc. like last year as longa s its ok with hayley. Im sorry that you cant really wait outside but thats out of my control, if you stand outside the hall on the stage door side and hayley sees you though thats a different matter. I will try and accomodate you all where possible but the safety and enjoyment of everyone has to come first im afraid. I hope to come out before the cocnert and meet you all again. Any more queries please post them and i shall answer them as best i can,
Danny

Hi Danny
Thanks for the update. It's good to hear that you are hoping for a signing session. That's always good news! How are tickets going? Well I hope.
Looking forward to meeting up with you again. I anticipate that most of us will all meet up and go for a meal before the concert and if we get to see Hayley before, that will be a bonus! If I remember correctly, there is quite a wide pavement adjacent to the roadway leading to the stage door and some bollards to lean on!
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, Danny, Tim and all
Thanks for the info Danny. I can fully appreciate that you are not allowed to tell us anything about Hayley's travel arrangements etc. I think I will still arrive mid afternoon and if its OK to stand on the pavement, (complete with bollards to lean on) then I will take my chances. Getting something to eat later on sounds like a good Idea Grant and the chance of a signing session afterwards would be fantastic.
Looking forward to seeing you all and to meeting Danny for the first time.
Regards Mark

Grant you are correct, there is a quite wide pavement there, i hope therefore that the weather is good for you! The ticket sales are struggling a bit at the moment, we're pretty certain that this is due to the state of the economy at the moment, Stoke has been hit really hard by it, if it was possible for Stokes economy to go any worse than it already was! but there are several marketing campaigns either in place or starting now so im still fairly confident that we shall get a similar number of people to last year! Please all buy a programme once you arrive as all money made from programme sales will go straight to the charities!! and youll have a lovely souvenire for hayley to sign!
Danny

Hmm - Very tempted by this one, but since we will be away the two previous weekends, it is unlikely that Sue will be able to get the night off. August 24th until November 5th is a long time to go without seeing Hayley. I will just have to wait until Sue's work rota is published, and hope that if she is free there will still be seats left. Danny, do you know what the rules will be regarding photography?
