Did anyone think to ask Hayley if there is going to be a programme for the RoD tour? Yes, there will be a tour programme. Bedlam confirmed that some time ago but don't ask me where I posted it! Great photos, guys. Looking forward to more. Roger

Er. Help!!!
This should really be in the Photography thread, but it is locked - so apologies for posting it here.
Last night was the first time I had tried to use my new Lumix camera at a concert, and I was therefore experimenting with how to get the best out of it, trying out the bewildering array of different modes that are available. And bearing in mind that the back of my ticket said that photography and recording were strictly forbidden (at least during the performance, although there was plenty of evidence of that being ignored), was trying to do it surreptitiously too. Of the 300 or so still photos I took about 70 were half-decent. No, I'm not going to post them all, but I might get round to posting a few of them eventually.
But the icing on the cake is I have three Quicktime Movies. I would like to post at least one of these, but it is rather large, over half a Gigabyte!!! Since I am new to video photography, I'm not sure what to do next. I could perhaps upload them to something like Mediafire, but files of that size will take hours! I believe that there are things that can be done to reduce the size of these files, but I suspect that I will need some software I don't have. Is there anything (preferably free) free out there that will do this job? I'm not sure that I need full video editing software. I would be interested in what our video photographers use.
One of these videos at least I think, not wanting to boast, would be enjoyed by a lot of our members.
Dave, Drew, anyone else, any suggestions?
Martin

Hayley seemed to take well to the sggestion that she recorded "THE RAINBOW CONNECTION" although she must get thousands of requests. At least she knew the words and hummed the intro. . Hi Stephen, I actually have that moment on one of my videos. I thought for a moment she was going to burst into song! I might even be able to post it on send you a copy if I can find out how! Grant and Peter would probably like that one too! Martin

Goodness!! Sounds like it was a fantastic evening. I'm going to have to finish reading the reports later as I'm taking a short break from rehearsing and studying myself. Thanks for what you've shared so far. <3 Caitlin

Very much enjoyed last night. I'm wondering if anyone got any pictures of Raven? I would very much like to try and capture their spirit with a painting that I would then send to them as thanks for their performance.

A couple anyway, and at least one is half decent. I will try to post it in the next day or two. There was also a nice picture of them in the programe for the Stoke concert. But of course mine will be at reduced size to meet the forum rules. If you like it and would like a full resolution copy, I can try to find somewhere suitable to put it. Martin

Hi everyone As I mentioned before, it was great to meet up with HWI members who I haven't seen for a while like Bill and Tim and of course Robert, Wendy & Abegail. Robert just happend to menton that he had forgotten his camera, so I hope you will be pleased with a couple of shots I managed to take of Hayley talking to Abegail - here they are: Here are a couple of others I took of Hayley meeting and signing ! By the time I got to see Hayley, time was short and I didnt like to take up too much time to have my photo taken with her - hopefully, there will be other opportunities during the next month or so and as Grant has mentioned, despite the time pressure, Hayley would not go until every last person who had queued up to see her had been dealt with. Thank-you Hayley, for a fantastic and yet one more very memorable evening. Regards Mark

Actually, I think I was that very last person, I seem to make a habit of it since I did the same thing at Buxton, although I was taking photographs most of the time and not queueing. Like you I didn't want to delay her, and like you I know there will be other opportunities when perhaps she is in less of a hurry. I must get round to soting out the photos.

Hello everyone A few more from me to keep you going until the Aberdeen concert pictures start flooding in! That's all from me for a while. I know both Andy and Bill took some pictures. If it quietens down after the two Scottish concerts I may post a few more. Best wishes Grant

Actually, I think I was that very last person, Not sure Martin, I think it may have been Peter and I I'd just put my camera away and Dave was still trying to entice Hayley away from the table so I chanced my luck with my programme. Peter got in first with his and I remember Dave saying "Oh! as it's you!" we both got them signed. That was a glorious moment as Hayley signed both our names without prompting! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
No, I FILMED you and Peter with Hayley. Then I spoke to her and gave her Graeme's message, It was so quick you probably missed it! That video is on my computer, and I would like you to have a copy. If the worst comes to the worst, I will burn individual DVDs, but I hope someone will come to my rescue.. True I didn't ask her to sign anything for me, I would have liked to and I would have liked another photo too, but time was short and I know I will see her again. For me, it was a joy just to be there!

Thanks folks for the reports and photos so far ! sounds like it was a great night with 17 songs, How I wish I could have been there with you all. But I did get to meet another singer and a lady I have admired for many years TWIGGY who signed her two LPs I have had since the late seventies and a copy of David Bowies Pin Ups.

Hi Martin, Can you post details (or send me a pm) of your exact camera model, the video format and frame size (e.g. 640x480) and the file size in megabytes of each of the videos you need to convert? Please do this for the files as in the camera and also, if different, for the files as they are on your computer. Then I'll have a think about it, download the camera manual from Panasonic, and hopefully let you know some time on Monday what you need to do to make a sensibly sized video (for the Internet) from it. Oh yes, please let me know what operating system you are running on your PC and how much spare hard drive space you have, thanks! Cheers, Dave
