Hello Peter! The Salvation Army might well attract large crowds, but sadly they won't be there. It's the Central Band of the Royal British Legion, but they're very good too! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you tomorrow, Richard Hi Richard. Thank you on your observation. Heaven's knows where my confusion arose. The sooner I'm off these wretched tablets the better. My present state causes some dullness of wit and the medication adds to it by having that side-effect! Everyone who has already posted on this I think has covered the event most comprehensively and Grant's pictures of Hayley are superb portraits. Just little asides from me then--just to prove I really can be succinct when the occasion calls for it! On stage she asked 'shall we do that again?' and perceiving a hesitant response I did what I don't usually do because I'm more a 'sit back and enjoy' rather than an audience participation person, yelled out 'Yes' to which she immediately pointed straight at me and said 'thank you'. Offtstage I took the opportunity to check this was in fact 'okay' with her, preceding my question with the statement 'I am always wary about pre-empting the audience'. This goes back (of which I did not remind her then) to four years ago before she had really got to know me when we had had a conversation about appropriate audience responses in support of her. She told me very firmly, 'I don't think we want any 'hurrahs' Peter, thank you.' On this occasion she made it very clear she had appreciated my very loud 'yes' and 'thank you for that, that was very much appreciated.' On stage right from the beginning I received that same intense look I had first received in Llandudno, when she looks you straight in the eyes (as I am sure she did to everyone else in the row). I am amazed she can be so stage/audience/singing aware while being able to keep her mind on her job, yet making it so absolutey clear she has recognised you and is saying 'hi!' to you with her eyes. Offtstage I asked her to sign a second copy of her autobiography and was fairly certain she would remember I had asked her to sign one before Christmas. I therefore preceded my request with a, 'I promise this isn't a spare copy for auction on E-bay!' Without hesitation she looked me straight in the eye with a great broad but teasing grin, effectively saying, 'Oh yes? ?' with the very clear indication that said, 'It's my other leg that's got the bell on, Peter!' As I was uncertain as to what had happened I asked her, 'Whose faux pas, yours or the band's?' 'The band's, the flautist missed her cue.' Of course that describes what happened but whether it was a mesmerised flautist or band leader who did not cue the flautist in may be another matter. The reason I had asked was because I had fallen into conversation with the couple next to me and had regaled them in the interval about the way she had handled the faux pas (which on that occasion seemed to be hers) and how her determination to get it right to the nth degree had made her boldly bring the whole proceedings to a standstill, despite there was an invited ayudience of nearly 300 in the sound theatre. She checked over the score before making a couple more takes. I had said that 'of course this was a recording for posterity, she wouldn't do that in a concert'... then she did! I deliberately did not look at the couple when Hayley came on so they did not feel obliged to make comment. It was the lady who whispered in my ear spontaneously, 'Isn't she lovely?' Then later, 'What a marvelous voice. It is incredible.' As we were going out she said, 'Utterly incredible, A wonderful voice, such assurance and such a nice girl.' I think we generally agreed the conductor confessed to having lost himself while listening to Hayley. Quite literally losing his place. It was nice seeing some young people there backstage and one young lad, only a year younger than Isaac, so caught up with emotion that he couldn't bring himself to meet her face to face. I assured him we had been just as bad when first meeting her, not because of her but because of the way we so admired her performance. With the encouragement of a couple of others we finally got him close enough to Hayley for her to sort it all out. She made sure he truly did have a night to remember. Peter S.

Here are a few more pictures Hayley spots me!Look closely at this one and you'll know where Hayley does her shopping!"Flowers for me?""That's not your own hair is it?" Plenty more to come! Hi everyone Grant, thanks so much for your wonderful photo's - really great shots You can never post too many for me - keep them coming! Peter wrote You are so right Peter. I noticed this time that she was scanning us earlier than she normally does - before she even started singing. It does appear that Hayley is saying "hi" with her eyes. I feel also that she is looking at our faces to make sure we are enjoying her performance - almost for our approval in some way. Feedback is of course vital for any performer, and I wonder if Hayley is getting instant feedback when she looks into our eyes during her performance. Anyway, its an amazing feeling to have her acknowledge you in this way. Best wishes Mark

Hi Everyone,
I was at the All Angels concert in York at the same time as this concert was taking place and have been busy with my own reports and pictures since then so this is the first chance I have had to read up on this concert.
I have just enjoyed spending the last half hour or so reading all of the reports so thanks everybody for posting them along with the wonderful pictures.
I really can't wait to see Hayley for the first time in Buxton on Saturday.
