My train gets into Romsey at 15.51 and I'll be legging it from there. Probably take about 15 mins so I should be at Broadlands shortly after four but may investigate taxis while in Romsey in case I miss the last train at 23.08. Don't think there'll be a post-concert meet and greet although didn't Dazza say he once met All Angels in the interval ?
P.S. The man on Radio 4 this morning mentioned rain on Friday night/Saturday morning so the grass will be wet to sit on for those without a chair. Sounds like a good way of getting rheumatism ! As Benny Hill used to say:"I'm not sitting on that. Not with my trouble !!"

Hi
I spoke to a very helpful lady at my Romsey Hotel. She recommened I took a torch to the concert as the lighting is very poor on the way out. She also said there are several supermarkets in town, including a big Waitrose store. I know where to get my picnic items now!
Cheers
Tony

Latest weather forecast for Romsey on Saturday is 18 deg and showers. Looks like we will need weatherproofs, umbrellas, sun cream, HWI sweatshirt, sunhat etc. In other words, prepared for all possibilities. After all this is England! Martin

Hi Jeff, I personally haven't met All Angels during the interval but at Orwell Park they were out signing autographs and meeting fans during the interval as well as at the end where I had a few words with them. At Orwell some forum members also got to spend a few minuites with Hayley which I missed unfortunatly. What the situation will be at Broadlands regarding meet and greets I don't know as there is Blake as well. They have been supporting Katherine Jenkins so i've already seen Blake four times this month (they are starting to annoy me! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif) and they have also been signing autographs and meeting fans during the intervals. I guess we will just have to see on the day? I'll be getting into Romsey at Midday, will check into my hotel, have a meal, a look around Romsey and hope to head down to Broadlands at around 4ish, or earlier if there are others planning to get there earlier? Thanks for the tip regarding the torch for the walk back into Romsey afterwards Tony. Dazza

Hi! I arrive Friday evening and have hired a car at Heathrow to get to Romsey. My hotel is in Chilworth, Southampton. I'm going to drive around a little on Saturday but I think of arriving in Romsey not later than 3pm. I'm going to be in Romsey before parking my car on Broadlands estate because I don't know at which time Broadlands are going to open its doors. One can't really get lost in Romsey. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

My plan is to eat a hot meal at lunchtime before I leave home and then to bring some sandwiches for a picnic once we are settled in our spot for the night. See you all there Mark

Hi
I have a detailed weather forecast for my area, which should be similar to that at Romsey.
Isle of Wight Weather forecast for Saturday 26th July, 2008.
40% chance of thunderstorm activity, high pollen count, max UV 8.
It will be overcast during the night, with light rainfall at times. The wind will be a light easterly breeze, with temperatures around 13c.
It will be overcast with sunny spells during the morning. The wind will shift to a light south westerly breeze with the temperature as high as 26c.
The afternoon will be quite cloudy, with a chance of light showers at times. The wind will remain a light south westerly breeze, with temperatures reaching a high of 27c.
During the evening it will become much clearer, with a reduced threat of light rainfall. The wind will remain a light south westerly breeze with temperatures dropping down to 16c by the end of the day.
Cheers

I fear we are unlucky with the weather. I live 30 miles away and when I got up this morning my barometer was down half an inch ! I'm afraid it's usually more reliable than the men from the met office. Umbrellas to the fore I think, small ones of course !

Hi Tony and Jeff, I'm afraid I disagree with both of you, my reading of the model data, National and local forecasts (as of 10 minutes ago) is that if you are unlucky, you may get a shower during the afternoon - but in the evening, during the concert, it should be pleasantly warm and dry with light winds. A perfect evening, in fact and if you get wet during the Broadlands concert, I'll eat my hat! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI'm only sorry that I can't be there to join you as it's not far from where I live. Have a great picnic and concert everyone! Cheers, Dave Chief HWI Meteorologist

Hi Dave,
Yes, I'd agree with that. The weather looks pretty good, although at one time they were foecasting some rough stuff.
Have a good time everybody. I'm now crossing my fingers in the hope of winning tickets for Tuesday's bash in London.
