Apart from a less accessible area only for the very fit it a classic Hayley--TOTALLY SOLD OUT but looks like a really great evening.

We don't know, Peter, because it hasn't happened yet! I know they're ahead of us in NZ but they ain't that far ahead!

this sounds like one of the best concerts in NZ this year... at least preformerswise.

I doubt anyone from here's going, but if one were to go, I think I know who it would be!

Matakana '08
Hello to everyone!

I just thought I'd write after having a thoroughly fantastic time in Matakana on Saturday night. What a beautiful place, and a brilliant concert!

The venue was the 'National Saddle Centre' and was basically a gorgeous farm in the middle of vineyard country with a stunning natural amphitheatre. The banks of the field were 'tiered' and ran down to a pond, on the other side of this was the stage. A very typically 'New Zealand' setting- gorgeous.

On the Friday night (the 8th of February) we had dinner with the whole concert party and had a meal full of laughter and enjoyment. In my humble opinion, both Hayley and Shaun are lovely. I had a lot of fun with them both, and also learnt quite a bit. That is the best thing about working with distinguished performers; they are fascinating to watch on stage.

I sang four songs and felt that the whole performance went really well. It was a very special thing to look out across the pond and up at thousands of people sitting in a darkened field avidly listening to the music. Then to go and sit in that field for the third act and watch was truly a treat.

From here on in I begin the countdown to the Paul Potts tour, going through repertoire and preparing for what will be a great opportunity for me to perform throughout NZ again, which I adore. A few other special things are also in the pipeline, so I'll keep you posted as soon as things are fully confirmed.

thanks for posting Elizabeth's blog. It sounds a great venue, and a great concert.
It is good to hear that Elizabeth enjoyed the company of the other performers. ( I would have guessed that, but it is nice to hear it !! )

Will Martin also attended, but I think he was an audience member, as oppose to a performer for the night. I've asked Elizbabeth though, and am awaitng her reply.

Elizabeth said that Will turned up as an audience (as i suspected), and she was surprised to see him, even though he did tell her he might attend.

She didn't get to duet with Shaun, because the orchestra had messed up.
