Your 113 post Graeme.
Didn't your hear a prolonged beeep at you as you got out of the car? As the corolla is now replaced by (I can't remember) I cannot imagine the latest (or last) corolla models not being as advanced as the earlier versions. My one, now some ten years old, it being my father's last car and only having 30,000 on the clock when I inherited it, so its value to me was more than its sale price, beeps quite loudly if you leave even the sidelights on and you can't have heads on without sidelights!
I also recall a point previously about driving over there for you and I recently came across someone else writing about problems of driving on 'the wrong side of the road'.. By hiring a local car at least the driver's position is correct to the road requirements which should help an instinctive familiarity. Likewise with me when driving in the States--other than to remember which State I'm in, as some turn right on a red whilst others get rather upset about it! And then of course there are school buses! I digress, what makes it more difficult for me is in Europe when I take my car over. In that circumstance I am effectively driving from the passenger seat! However, it does make you keep your distance from the vehicle in front as otherwise you need to nose nearly all the way out before seeing if it is safe to overtake!

Made it to Queenstown OK, I go to the wrong side when I make turns! I guess my driving will improve. When to Milford Sound today (bus trip), neat place. I'm going to see a Kiwi Bird tomorrow, found some handbills for the concert! ....TimJ Hi Tim, quite a world traveler you are! Did you take pics of Milford Sound? If so, I sure would enjoy seeing them. You mentioned that you will see a Kiwi Bird today. Please post pictures, because some of my closest friends remind me of Kiwi birds. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Can't wait to see pics of the concert! Regards, Gene

i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI made it safely to Arrowtown on Tuesday.I stopped a few times to video the lakes and had a walk around the Kawaru Gorge gold fields. I set up my tent in the Arrowtown motorcamp and went to the pub to see NZ beat England in the cricket whoopee!! On Wednesday it was a beautiful hot day and I went on the vintage steam train the "Kingston Flyer".I shot a lot of video of this.Today after some overnight rain it was another nice day and I went on the steamship "Earnslaw" to Walter Peak High country Sheep Station and had an excellent barbecue lunch. I saw where the concert is to be held at Milford resort and it is only 2 kms from the campground so I think I will walk to it and therefore I can have a few wines (lol). Tomorrow I think I will go on the Gondola and maybe do the luge. See you all later.

Hi all, Finally, I have come back to Queenstown this afternoon, but I feel like I have been doing a little bit too much independent traveling, as those who are going to the concert have already been settling down here for a while. Sorry that I have to meet you all on the very day of the concert, tomorrow! But I have some excuses, or at least some picture to show to everybody. Hope you will enjoy them. What a wonderful land Aote Aroa (New Zealand) is! picture1: me on Routeburn Track picture2: Routeburn Track picture3: Milford Sound AKito i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Akito
As Stephany has already said, it is good to be able to put a face to the name! You seem to be having a marvelous time exploring New Zealand - your photo's are wonderful and the middle one particularly takes me straight back to Lord of the Rings and Middle Earth!
Enjoy the concerts and the rest of your holiday.
Best wishes Grant

:2fun: If you see this before the concert Akito, Belinda has your tickets and will meet you at the concert, she will be wearing her white HWI jacket. Yesterday I woke up to snow on the mountain tops and it was cold.I went on the gondola but I didn't do the luge as I have done it before. Since the weather looked better at Glenorchy I went there for the day.It was a lovely drive beside the lake to the head of it where Glenorchy is.I continued to where Akito started his trek of the Routeburn track. In the evening I met up with Belinda and Stuart in the Arrowtown pub and we saw the Crusaders vs Brumbies Super14 rugby match which the Crusaders won (whoopee) and then saw England beat NZ in the cricket (boo). Today it is cold but not raining and it is meant to be fine but cool for the concert.Well got to go now, I will probably see Tim at 1.30.

Hi all! Wow! You all seem to have a great time in NZ. Akito, you've done a great trip to the Milford Sound. I'm sure you enjoyed that spectacular nature a lot. Did you do the whole trip to the Milford sound via the Routeburn Track? That's a lot of walking. Enjoy NZ! Thomas
