Rumour has it the title The Wineries Tour" has now been adopted by the England Cricket team who are also on tour in NZ that month. Hello Martin! If our batsmen can see two balls heading towards them, they might stand a better chance of hitting one of them! Richard

Dobbyn's site is slightly confusing with dates. I am unsure if it refers to 2007 or 2008 about his Dubai/UK tour in June. Can you clarify, Stephany? regarding the question, when will it be on www.hayleywestenra.com, its all here where Hayley herself recommends people to look! Peter S.

Hi HWI Christchurch visitors , who will be in Christchurch on the 11th Feb I'm trying to organise a day out before some leave town on the 12th Maybe visit a few hayley sites around town ,tram ride etc j then Jump on bus which stops at the gondola , ride on gondola then thru to lyttelton then ferry across to Diamond harbour for lunch or afternoon tea (where my parents live), you have all been invited they have been on many trips round south island and have videos of the scenery on way to queenstown so if anyone wants a sneak preview of what they can see , They have a nice garden and there is some nice views from their house of the harbour, there won't be a shortage of Hayley music they had no chance Belinda Hi Belinda Thats a very kind offer - a guided tour of some "Hayley sites" and lunch or afternoon tea at your mums house. I remember the photos you posted of thier lovely garden and views of the harbour How I wish it wasnt 24000 miles away, as well as being one of the busiest times of the year for me, otherwise, i would love to take you up on your offer i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI cant wait for your report and some photos of the events coming up Best wishes Mark

Hi Mark, My brain started revolving when you mentioned 24,000 miles. So naturally I looked it up. From Enrico Fermi : 5. How many miles around the world?
Answer, 24 time zones x 1000 miles per time zone = 24000 miles (statute miles not nautical)
Yes, it is about 24000 miles (38624.26 Kms. ) around the world. In other words Mark, you've been to NZ & come back home & have travelled the 24,000 miles. So its not half so far as you think it is. From our place here, it is 1340 miles approx. to Auckland. You could swim it with a bit of youth & physical fitness & friendly sharks. Graeme

Hi Graeme Wow - thanks for working that out -only half the miles I thought - I guess so i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Its not to bad at all for you, just 1340 miles - however, friendly sharks or not, I wouldnt recommend swimming to see Hayley i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI am planning to come over in 2010 - assuming Hayley tours again of course. I hope we get to meet one day Best regards Mark

Hi All, In the news this week I read the account of the short landing/crash of a BA Boeing 777. I'm also aware that Marianne & I are booked to fly Sydney to Auckland on board a 777 belonging to Emirates. I hunted a bit further & found out that the BA 777 incident is the 1st one since the 777's introduction to the world passenger scene in 1994. The pilots love them. Graeme

Graeme Hi Graeme I have been following this story very closely. It seems that everyone had a very lucky escape thanks to a very skilled crew. Don't know what information is being broadcast over there, but it seems the aircraft suffered 'significant power loss' in both engines just two miles out and at a height of just 600 feet. There is clearly no suspicion of any problems with the 777 as I understand all other 777 fleets are operating normally, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you have seen any post crash pictures, the airframe seems to have stood up very well to it's unfortunate arrival at Heathrow, with some pasengers just assuming it was a very rough landing! Best wishes Grant

I haven't been following the story but no fire, both engines? Perhaps a fuel shortage?.....TimJ
