Bedlam Management have asked me this morning NOT to release details of the NZ tour until 27th November. I don't think there is any doubt that it will go ahead but it has not yet been officially announced. If we do so now, the sponsors could be "sensitive" about it.
All existing threads, including all replies, have been temporarily hidden from view and will be fully restored on the appropriate date.
Those of you who have already contacted venues, please don't be alarmed if you receive a negative response but please don't follow it up until details appear once again on this forum.
Thanks, Roger

I just logged on to discover that the total tally of posts had reduced by 31 over a period of 30 minutes - Thought it was passchendaele all over again!! Best wishes Grant (heart beating normally again!)

Hi any non Kiwis thinking of visiting NZ for Hayley's Concerts. This distance & driving times worker outer is fabulous. Just click on the start town & let the cursor drift until you get to your destination. DONT click on the destination, just watch the table change. www.top10.co.nz/times_distances.htmleg. Northernmost town to Southernmost is 1893 Kms by road. I could play with it all day. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGraeme

Hi everybody! The NZ press has started to mention the Wairarapa concert (February 23, 2007). Considering that we are still waiting for a confirmation from Bedlam management, I won't create a separate thread just yet. Here is the announcement: The Cocker tour dates come in support of his latest album, Hymn For My Soul, with Kiwi musicians Midge Marsden and The Hammond Gamble Band also playing the Martinborough gig. Ms Hopkin said a limited number of pre-sales tickets will be available to Alana Estate customers for 24 hours from noon today and all other tickets on sale at Ticketmaster from Monday. She is expecting about 5000 people to the Cocker concert, with tickets ranging from $90 for general admission, $130 for seated B reserve, $158 for seated A reserve, and $350 for the VIP package. The special package deal will give 160 fans a wine-and-dine experience at the estate restaurant that overlooks the natural amphitheatre surrounded by trees and vineyards where the performance will be held. Cocker is best known for his gravelly voice and for re-workings of well-known songs, including With a Little Help From My Friends. Ms Hopkin said the Fraser and Westenra concerts are expected to attract similar numbers as Cocker with ticket prices and availability to be confirmed. "Alana Estate will be the place to be, where music, wine and food lovers can go to watch the stars come out." Hi everybody! The NZ press has started to mention the Waipara concert (February 23, 2007). Stephany Stephany, That's Wairarapa, not Waipara.Martinborough is in the Wairarapa district on North island. Waipara is 40km North of Christchurch. You nearly gave me a heart attack.....I thought we'd lost the Waipara Concert for a while. It's certainly not on 23rd Feb & I don't dare say when it is till 12 days from now. Graeme

H Stephany & thank you, NZ seems to have many similar names. Us non kiwis have to keep our wits about us. eg. Marlborough & Martinborough Havelock & Havelock (only difference is one's North Island & the other's South island) I thought we were going to the concert at South Island Havelock but there isn't one. Sigh....Graeme

Hi all, Here is another announcement about a concert in Villa Maria (South Auckland). In the past, there has been a lake between the audience and performers, but the winery says artists such as Joe Cocker require a more intimate connection. Villa Maria managing director George Fistonich says work started last week to pull about half a hectacre of vines from the ground's 16 hectares. Mr Fistonich says though he loves vines and trees, the grapes lost represent only a small fraction of what is available to Villa Maria and the change has made a good setting. He says most of the winery's grapes come from the Hawke's Bay and Marlborough regions.
Stephany

Hi Belinda I really hope theres an official announcement soon so that you can really look forward to the NZ concerts with certainty. If Kathryn or Nic, or infact Steve A , are at any of the forthcoming concerts (including the All Angels on the 28th) I will see if I can find anything out for you ( assuming there hasn't been an announcement in the meantime of course) Mark x

There is no need, Mark. The opening post in this thread explains the situation and nothing further should be said until we receive clearance (which is likely to be on or around 27th November).
