Hi Grant,
Yes, I agree completely with her/his point of view. The richness and depth of Hayley's voice is very impressive...but has not lost the 'angelic' side of it.
It also seems that three boys out of four were unwell before the concert...but not Hayley.
Love, xx Stephany

Thank you for that Stephany. Come to think of it, we never saw any sign of Lucy after the concert, did we? Maybe she escaped early! Roger

Hi Roger,
She was at the bar with a friend when we were waiting inside the venue after the concert. I think she was still there when we decided to leave and wait at the stage door.

Hi Roger and everyone, I just remembered something else about the after-signing. When Hayley was ready to leave (finally! ) and get into the car, she looked around her looking for her Mum. Jill was still busy talking with everyone from HWI and didn't seem to be wanting to go yet so Hayley had to call her twice before her mum eventually said goodbye Stephany

She came down to the bar wearing her performance gown. I commented on it to someone, probably Stephany, that it seemed odd, then we all headed for the stage door. Best wishes Grant

Hi everyone, Another anecdote from Croydon I just remembered. After her first song ('Pokarekare Ana'), Hayley said welcome to the audience and explained that she was delighted to perform at Fairfield Halls. Then she added 'I noticed that singers like Russell Brand and Boy George have also performed here. It's a bit different to what I do but...' (giggles). I think it's nice to see Hayley trying bigger (more 'pop') venues. That said, I'm not sure I would like to see perform in extremely huge venues. Intimate shows are better! Fairfield Halls was a great choice Stephany

Fairfield Halls was a great choice I think I'd agree with you there about intimate shows Stephany, Much as I enjoyed Shepherd's Bush, it's a venue more suited to rock shows. Smaller outdoor concerts are also good for Hayley (like the polo club) but I can't imagine her somewhere like Wembley stadium (or even the arena) because to fill that you need a much heavier sound and it's more of an "event" where the music sometimes becomes almost secondary. The other problem as venues get larger is the acoustics where more amplification and mixing is needed and the naturalness of the sound gets lost. Hayley has such a pure (no pun intended) voice that suits smaller venues. That said, a stadium means 50 times the number of people can see her in one go!
