Songbird.... and interesting addition ..... I don't know if it qualifies as the ' Very Best Of' but I guess we will not have a say in that It must feel nice, after all the effort, to have such a good day and many happy memories. Best Wishes, Graham

Hi Joyce, I didn't know about Eva Cassidy's version, in fact I had never heard of her before, after reading your post, in youtube I've listen to her version of "Songbird" and it's amazing. Thank you Greetings from Portugal, Paulo Correia

Hi Paulo,
Since i'm on HWI, i discovered Eva Cassidy, just a few month's ago. I remember there was a compilation cd, Songbird, the best female voices, with a track from Hayley on it. I bought the cd from E bay, and discovered the song, Songbird by Eva Cassidy. I found out that this singer passed away(just like Minako Honda), a few years ago. I also love All Angels version, but really would like to hear Hayley's version of it!! Maybe,or better I HOPE, Songbird will be a bonustrack on her forthcoming Very Best of Album.!!!
Greetz JOYCE.

Thanks for the report and pictures Mark. Another first witnessed by you, First Sonny and now Songbird Christine McVie's Songbird is a wonderful piece. I believe Christine's voice and her gentle songs brought Fleetwood Mac into the limelight of the popular music arena, further boosted by Stevie Nicks for the Rumours album. But the best songs were always Christine's, At one time I transferred most of Christine's songs to a single C 90 cassette and had them in the car for years. I'd rather go Blind is another gem I would like to hear Hayley sing, Sung by Christine McVie prior to joining Fleetwood Mac.

Hi everyone Thanks for your comments. Joyce, I don't have a surprise video in terms of the songs Hayley performed, unfortunately, they were very strict on photography during the performance and I was sitting quite a long way back. However......... The performance - what can I say Hayley's voice seems to be richer every time I see her. Without doubt though, the highlight of the first half was 'A Thousand Winds' , I haven't been able to get that song out of my head, particularly as I spent the whole journey home with the Japanese Songs album playing over and over. Here are a few photo's that I took during the interval. It as getting dark and the setting became even more stunning. The second half was over all too quickly. The highlights were for me 'Summer Fly' and without doubt the new song, 'Songbird' which went down very well and was performed beautifully considering it was her first live performance. When Hayley announced the last song, there was a rumble of disappointment to which Hayley said " well if you applaud for long enough, I might just come back and sing some more. You know how it works guys ". Applaud we did, infact, as Hayley finished Hine E Hine, she received the first of two standing ovations. For the first encore, Hayley came back onto stage and said "there is one song that I missed off the set list and somehow, it would be a crime if I didn't sing it tonight. Its another song from my homeland and its called Pokarekare Ana The audience went wild with applause and she sang it as well as I have ever heard. After another standing ovation, Hayley came out and performed 'Sonny' at the piano. Finally, both Hayley and Fiona were presented with a bouquet of flowers and the show was suddenly over. As I was making my way towards where I expected Hayley to appear after getting changed, I suddenly spotted Eugene and his party. After introductions all round, we set out to find Hayley. Next installment to follow......... Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the reports. It must have been wonderful. But I don't suppose Hayley would have wanted to hang about for long afterwards. Although by the end of it she might have been starting to wake up. Her body clock would be reading something like 8am!

Hello Mark!
Wow...I would never have guessed 'Songbird' ! How wonderful!
Nice of you to scan the program for us!
You weren't kidding when all of the seats were covered in plastic to keep off the rain.
A very good job once again, Mark! Thanks!!
Regards, Joe

Hello Mark, Thank you very much for your excellent pictures (despite the weather!) and for scanning the programme. I wonder if Hayley deliberately sang 'Pokarekare Ana' at the end of if she truly forgot it. I'm glad you decided to go to this concert in Aberglasney and I'm sure you don't regret it either! Have you gone down to earth yet? Stephany xxx

Hi Mark, Thank you very much for your detailed and very well illustrated reports. If I've counted rightly, there's only one 'secret' left which isn't revealed until now, isn't it... - what's about Dave (instead of Ray) ? Cheers, Karsten

Hi Mark again Great reports so far but can't wait for the last, post concert, report. Seeing the audience in waterproofs is a bit deja vu for me and a few other members (remember Woburn last summer! ). Best wishes Martin ps I see now that the drums were part of the jazz band and not for Hayley.
