I'm glad you got yours sorted out Stephany The ticket story is not over! I checked my credit card statement this morning and I was charged 60 euros for my ticket The student price is 13£ so even with a high exchange rate it shouldn't cost that much! Awhh, I need to call the box office again. Stephany

Phew, I just called (again) the Southampton boxoffice and they charged my credit card for two tickets: one at 13£ (student price) and one at 25£ (full price). I know that my English has to be improved but errr...yea OK. Anyway, I'm going to be refunded so everything is okay. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifStephany

All foreigners should be thrown out of jolly olde England. Hmm, does that mean I'll be sent back to somewhere where the sun actually shines more than once a year

does that mean I'll be sent back to somewhere where the sun actually shines more than once a year Well to bring this thread slightly more back on topic, 25 of the last 26 days here in the Southampton area have had no measurable rain and total rainfall for the whole of that period is 0.1 millimetres (try measuring it! ) with an average daily maximum temperature of nearly 22 deg C. Not bad for rainy old England in September although I suspect the Autumn isn't too far away now... Cheers, Dave

I meant to comment on this earlier, but I believe it was Belinda that said that Fiona will be in concert in New Zealand on 15th December so it seems unlikely that she will be with Hayley for her Southampton concert, which is a shame. I guess it also means we won't have Ian either! Best wishes Grant

Interesting point, Grant. Hayley sang and played the piano once, so why not do it again to accompany herself during a whole concert? I believe it will be tougher to convince her to play the violin though Just kidding. Fiona & Ian will be missed but I'm sure there will be great musicians with Hayley in Southampton anyway. Stephany

Good point Grant. As NZ is 12 hours ahead of the UK, that makes Fiona's appearance in Southampton quite impossible. Her absense doesn't necessarily mean that Ian won't be there either but it does seem likely. If that is the case, we may well see Fiona Swadling and Al Gurr instead. If so, try to grab a word with them afterwards - they are both great characters and very friendly. Roger

Turner Sims sent me a brochure which says it will indeed be Fiona Swadling and Al Gurr with Hayley.

Hi
I have been doing a bit of research for those attending Hayley's concert on 13/12/07 and who do not have their own transport. The bad news is that bus U2, which runs from Southampton city centre to University Road( the nearest stop to Turner Sims) will not be operating then. It only runs in term time.
Solent Blue Line (Bluestar) run service 001. This runs from the city centre but the nearest stop to Turner Sims is "Boldrewood Campus". This means a walk of about a 1000 yards!

Hi Tony, It's not as bad as that, it's quite civilised in Southampton really Several of the University services run all year round including U1C which connects the Airport (including Parkway railway station) with the University (Highfield Interchange) and City Centre (Civic Centre or Central Station etc.) and they run until after 11pm. www.uni-link.info/routes.shtmlSwaythling railway station (local routes) is 20 minutes walk away if there is a bus strike Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks for the very helpful information. Now I know how to get easily to the city centre from Southampton airport Stephany Hi Stephany, I'd get a train from there, if I were you - Southampton Airport (Parkway) train station is on the main line to Southampton Central station and will be much quicker! Southampton Central station is 5 or 10 minutes walk to the Civic Centre. But if you want to go directly to Turner Sims from the airport, the bus will be quicker. Cheers, Dave PS If anyone has any concerns about this, let me know where you need to get to and from - I may know the answer as it's not too far from where I live and I know the area.
