Hi Martin, I don't think anyone knows for sure where we will be at 4:30. If we keep to the plan of adjourning to Holland Park, I imagine we should be there by then. I suppose we should stay within site of the nearest entrance when approaching the park from Walkabout. Wherever you arrive first (Walkabout or the Park) take a look around... and we will be in the other one! Sorry to be vague but I think we will all be playing it by ear! Roger

I just received an email from the Shepherds Bush Empire following my enquiry about handbags. Thought it could interest some of us. I'll have a 'dangerous' item with me - the thing that opens wine bottles (have no idea how you say it in English!) so I hope they won't think I'm about to attack the Kiwis with it! Stephany

Hi Stephany, We call it a "thing that opens wine bottles"! Okay then, it's a corkscrew. Could you not take it back to your hotel before going to the concert? Roger

I'll do just that, then. Don't know why I didn't think about it A corkscrew? I'll probably forget the word within a minute Thanks Roger!

I thought I was going to have to leave it in the car. Martin ps Incidentally, many wine bottles here in the UK now are "screwtop". Is that also the case in France or do the French frown upon this practice?

Two days ago, I reported that the weather forecast for London on Friday was for temperatures of 21°C. Rodders question my faith in the forecast! Well, he was quite right to do so... We can now look forward to 23°C Roger

Hi everyone Thanks Roger for the weather update - you do realise that we will all hold you to this report, so if its wet and cold ......... I'm hoping to arrive at the Walkabout at 1pm (finding a parking space permitting). Stephany, I haven't forgotten about the plastic glasses I didn't put my order in for a poloshirt in time (forgot) so I'll be wearing my Westenra tartan tie. Just to reassure me I wont be the only one wearing a tie, who else is planning to ? Mark

Polo shirt? Tartan tie? I'm too new to this forum to be familiar with the dress code. I'll probably be there in a suit (having to come straight from work!) but at least the blue and tartan means I'll spot you guys (although a few may be familiar from last weekend).
Really looking forward to it.

Hi all! Mark, I will definitely wear my tie so you won't be the only one. Martin, I'll be with our group but as the box office opens at 4pm I'll have to be there to pick up my ticket. So maybe at 4.30pm I could still be around Shephards Bush Empire. Like Stephany I also have to go back to my hotel before we queue in at the entrance. I plan to bring my Nikon DSLR for some group photos i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif but I'm sure they won't let me enter the venue with that camera. So I have to change it and smuggle my small Canon into Shephards Bush. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

Stephany, I haven't forgotten about the plastic glasses Thank you Mark! With you, that makes 17 members! With Hayley and Steve Abbott (who I am told is going), that makes 19 members. If we could just persuade one more, we would have ten per cent of the forum present! Even though this is not the largest HWI gathering of all times, I suppose this is the most 'international' one? New Zealand, England, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States will be represented! Ooops - I forgot France Stephany
