Hi Mark Didn't think you'd be able to resist this one! It does look as though it could be a bit specialI will be travelling up by train and expect to arrive around lunchtime. It will be great to have some company for an evening meal. Last time a used a pub about 10 minutes walk from the Minster which would have been excellent had I not been too excited and anxious to be at the front of the queue Then it was only my third concert! As a matter of interest, where are you staying? Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant From what I've seen, there are quite afew places to eat around there, all within walking distance, your pub sounds fine. I'm staying at the Beverley Arms Hotel. It says its in the centre of Beverley and I was hoping to leave the car and walk to and from the minster - particularly if we are to have a couple of glasses of champagne i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI understand those of us with £40 tickets go into the concert via a seperate entrance - do you think this means we still have to line up early to get a good seat ? Even if it does, so what - its all part of the fun Mark

Hi Mark
The problem I had last time was the need to get back to the Minster early. I think I started queuing about 5.30. The pub I ate at was the only one at that time that served all day. Everything else had evening opening hours with 6pm being the earliest.
I've just looked at my credit card statement and the pub was called The Green Dragon. From what I remember, it is only a little way up from the Beverley Arms Hotel.
As for the concert, with only 50 top price tickets, they will probably be the first 3 rows. I'm guessing that the reception will be accessed through a separate entrance - this is what Nikki suggested might be the case - and we'll all go to our seats together. We'll just have to make sure we're 'good to go' when it happens.
Incidentally, did Nikki say anything about meeting Hayley? In a previous post I commented that she thought one of the options would be the interval, though I can't see that working for us or for Hayley.
Whatever happens, this is going to be a lot of fun!
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant Grant wrote I was in a sort of panic booking my ticket as I virtually had the hotel booking agency I use on the other line holding my room at the Beverley Arms Hotel until I had secured my ticket. Therefore, I didn't think to ask any questions However, as you say Grant, from what we know of how Hayley likes to operate, I can't really believe that she would be wanting to attend a reception mid concert - much more likely to be at the end. Also, as this venue is seriously "up north" I can't really see her travelling back to London after the show, surely, she is much more likley to stay overnight, like she did at Gawsworth The Green Dragon pub sounds fine for a bite to eat I'm really looking forward to it now Best wishes Mark.

Hi Mark Not sure what made you think that Hayley stayed overnight at Gawsworth as they drove back to London after the show on both occassions. They also went back to London after the Beverley concert in 2005, so I expect they'll do the same this time. Whatever happens, it's going to be an interesting and quite different evening. Just hope they don't do it too often or its going to get very expensive!! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant Sorry - I got my concerts mixed up - It was Grassington where Hayley stayed overnight, as Drew spotted Hayleys car and driver in the village the next morning. I just thought that as Beverley seems to be at least as far up country, this might be another occasion when an overnight stay would be sensible for her. My thinking was obviously that she may be more relaxed about a reception after the performance. Oh well, we shall see all in good time Best regards Mark

Just a reminder to everyone that there areExactly 7 Days To Go!!I'm beginning to have mixed feelings about this one. Earlier this year I had loads of "Hayley Days" to look forward too. Now, as each concert passes, I will soon be "Hayley Less!" I am however looking forward to Hayley's reaction to the different G&B's I have for her, and, of course, all the other 'goodies' that come along with a Hayley concert !! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant and Mark, It's going to be a nice concert although I'm not sure yet how it will be organized with the reception and all. Are you both going earlier to attend the sound check? If they let you in, of course. Enjoy the concert and please pass on our greetings to Hayley for us Love, Stephany

Hi Stephany Thanks for your good wishes, I'm sure Grant & I will do our best to enjoy the concert - haha - and will really look forward to reporting to you all afterwards. Its a bit of a mystery as to who is travelling from Sussex if its not Roger and Ireland I know that I certainly mentioned to the person that I booked my ticket from that I am a member of HWI and I expect Grant did too. Its nice to get a mention in the article though, shame they didnt actually mention HWI !! Grant & I should be in good time for the sound check, assuming we can get in that is and of course will certainly pass on your thoughts and greetings to Hayley. As you say Grant, just 7 days to go Best regards Mark
