Hi All Further to my last post. I have just been informed by Sue at Beverley Torist Information that the £40.00 tickets will include separate entry to the concert; followed by a champagne reception with canapes in the interval. Surprisingly, she advised that meeting Hayley will either be in the interval or after the concert depending upon how Hayley feels. She didn't say where this information has come from. My money would be on afterwards as I would expect Hayley to have too much on her mind and would want to stay focussed until after the concert, but that's only my opinion! Hope someone will decide to keep me company! Incidentally, Beverley Minster's web site has been down for the last three days! Best wishes Grant

Hi Folks. I know it is a lot to expect of the great and wonderful computer, but if at the start of one of these concert threads a map was put up indicating where for example Beverly Minister is and airports and transport points near it are.
we could even use Rogers marquetry map with coloured dots over it or something.
It might help the foreigners like me to decide whether to attempt to go to these concerts or not, As you might understand English geography was not high on the list of priorities here in Ireland when I went to school for that one day many years ago.
Any suggestions as how this may be done ?

Say 3 hours drive.Beverly is 53d 12' 57" N and 1d 40' 53" W....easy to find with google earth. See pic below... you could not miss that enormous thing!!!Piece of cake...graeme i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIt must be said that most of the more interesting churches are in North Yorkshire, thanks in part to the way the county boundaries have been redrawn over the years. But it would be a particular shame to be close to York and not cross into the East Riding of Yorkshire to visit Beverley, just north of Hull. Like York, Beverley has a minster: unlike York, this one remains a parish church, rather than a cathedral. Architecturally, though, it's on a par with its more famous cousin. Its interior boasts 13th century chancel and transepts, 14th century nave, 16th century choir stalls, and beautiful 18th century flooring. Lady Percy's tomb, dated at about 1340, is extravagantly decorated, and is a superb example of the sculpture of its time. The minster also houses dozens of carvings of musicians, a theme continued by Beverley's other magnificent church, St Mary's. Founded in the 12th century, much of St Mary's was rebuilt in the early 1500s after the tower collapsed into the nave. Beverley was a prosperous town at the time, and the church was restored in style. Look for the minstrels' capital up on one of the columns on the north side, which shows five painted musicians. Not hard to see why they chose it.

Hi Grant This concert sounds just my sort of thing i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Have you actually booked ? I'm just checking my diary etc. to see if I can make it. I think it would be an overnight stay - but so what My second Hayley concert included an exclusive reception afterwards, Hayley stayed for around 2 hours chatting to the 40 or so of us that were included Grant, did the lady you spoke to say they had sold many of those tickets yet :? Hi Mark
I didn't ask how many they'd sold, just how many top price tickets there were - sorry, but then I was on the 'phone to them literally as they went on sale.
I'd recommend you ring and speak to Sue or Nikki, they're both very helpful, if you're thinking of going. With only 50 top price tickets they may sell quickly.
If you intend to stay overnight, it may be worth looking at outlying districts, as I'm told Beverley is likely to be full due to ladies day at the races. I'm booked in at the same place as last year and got their only remaining room.
Let me know how you get on.
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant Thanks for posting the flyer and for the info. I managed to speak to Nikki this morning ( she was very pleasant) and YES - there are still some £40 tickets available - so, I've booked I just couldn't resist this one i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifGrant wrote: Well if you don't mind Grant, I think I will join you I've also booked a room for the night in Beverley itself. As an idea and of course, If you want to and you don't have any other plans, perhaps we could meet up for a meal before the concert. I am planning to arrive most likely early to mid afternoon. Speak soon. 22 days to go !! Best regards Mark
