Hello everybody! According to Hayley's official website, Hayley will be appearing in concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Hurtwood Park Polo Club, Ewhurst near Guildford in Surrey, on Saturday 25th August 2007. As yet there is no information about this concert on the club's website: www.hurtwoodparkpolo.co.uk/I'll add this event to Hayley's Schedule for 2007. Richard

I've looked at the site and it looks a bit posh for me. Handy for Roger though - close to home !

Looking at the club's web site I'm assuming this is going to be an out door event. Do we have any idea yet whether it is going to be an evening or a daytime 'do'?
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, No, there is no indication as to whether this is a daytime or evening event. My guess is that it is either one or the other! Hope this helps! Roger

TICKET ALERT Tickets are expected to be on sale from Wed. 4th July priced £30. There will be a ticket "hotline". I asked if there was seating available and the response was " No, bring a hamper as it is a picnic type thing" ! Martin

As Hurtwood Park is "out in the sticks", it may help to indicate its location. The nearby village of Ewhurst (and Ewhurst Green) is approximately midway between Guildford and Horsham. ADDRESS: Hurtwood Park Polo Club, Horsham Lane, Ewhurst Green, Surrey. Roger

Thanks for the information, Stephany! Unfortunately I can't make this one, but it looks like a wonderful concert. I noticed the club's write-up dropped the first 'y' from Hayley at one point, so I replaced it in the transcript. 'Y' not! Best Wishes, Richard

Thanks for the map Roger. I notice that there are numerous "greens" around the venue (Ewhurt, Ellen, Forest, Shamley, Farley, Bucks to name just a few). Are you sure it's polo they play there rather than golf? Martin

I've just noticed that this thread is rather bare! Is anyone out there going? I'm still in two minds as Sherpherds Bush is only six days later.

I hope that this has no effect on the concert, considering the proximity to Guildford and the fact that this should be a very busy time for polo. BHS urges riders in Surrey to stay at home Abigail Butcher, H&H news editor
8 August, 2007
The British Horse Society (BHS) is urging horse owners in the foot-and-mouth surveillance zone (SZ) to remain vigilant and hack responsibly.
"The horse industry and the farming industry have a very close symbiotic relationship," said Mark Weston, BHS director of access, safety and welfare. "I would urge all horse riders within the protection cones to keep their horses on their own premises for the time being, to assist in the prevention of the spread of this awful disease."
The BHS has issued new advice to riders in Surrey this afternoon, asking those who keep their horses within the 10km foot-and-mouth SZ to do the following:
on premises where there are susceptible animals (ie cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, llamas, alpacas, deer) to keep their horses on the premises, and NOT hack out in the countryside
on premises where there are no susceptible animals:
not to take their horses to premises where there are susceptible animals and
not to ride on public rights of way or open spaces within the SZ where there are susceptible animals.
Hacking in the FMD protection zone (PZ) is now banned by DEFRA.
Stay in touch with all the latest developments on the FMD outbreak on horseandhound.co.uk and in H&H magazine www.horseandhound.co.uk/news/article.php?aid=135608Not suggesting that you should ride there Martin.

I have also been following the news with some concern recently.
This a very worrying situation for farmers and I just pray that with care and consideration this concert will go ahead.
Best wishes Grant

Best wishes Grant Hi Grant, That is a terrible concern once more ! Australia has never encountered Foot and Mouth Disease up to this point in time. May this wonderful sounding concert go ahead though !! Are you not going to it, Grant ? Or are you ? Love, Marianne
