Thank you Andrew and David for your reports. It sounds you had a great time together as well as with Hayley et al. Andrew, you take my breath away. I think that was one of the most technically meaningful reports we have ever had on a Hayley concert. But first things first. Andrew, that picture of you and Hayley is superb (post 24 top picture). That really shows the magnificence of the HWI tartan. Well done. I’m not sure which of you looks the most stunning, as others have already similarly commented! But of course I do really know. Hayley would look stunning beside you if dressed in a sack whereas you would still need all the furbillos to look half decent beside her--as would any one of us! In fact it gives me an idea. Hayley, ever thought of using that tartan for a full length Scottish ball dress? It would go down well for any future Scottish tour—or, leading on from that, what about a concert of Scottish ballads to go with it? Would go down well in some parts of USA and Canada too. Doubtless Andrew could advise where in the world more precisely. On top of that, such a dress would serve for social occasions as well as stage! “with a wall full of platinum discs”, said the MC. A much nicer way of expressing that achievement of hers than ‘crateful’. Clearly a concert I am sorry to have missed--but I have had my share--both of interesting journeys as David told us and of magnificent live concerts. As for earlier comments about Gerald being over, what's the guessing? Father and daughter re-connecting and in the most natural and long-missed family way for them--seeing the new flat and humping some furniture around?! Then home together on the same flight for her holiday! Sounds like a 'once in a blue moon' NORMAL family experience which they will all love. They deserve it. Peter S.

Interesting comment Peter (nice to have you 'drop in' for a visit by the way!) I was thinking exactly the same after I realised that Gerald was over here, more than likely to assist and support Hayley in the move to her new place. Good to realise that we see and understand her as she wants us to; just that. NORMAL! Best wishes Grant

Hi Folks,
Andrew and David great reports, why did you not go to both concerts ?
Peter it's nice to see you posting again.
On the subject of Hayley's home (Is there a proper thread ) it occurred to me while cleaning the other day she will have the pleasure of cleaning her own place, a great way to contemplate life and it's meanings in the security of "Your own place " a great achievement for one so young.
Congratulations Hayley, may it bring you years of pleasure and joy.

Hi Comet, TimJ & James, It was more than a pleasure providing the Concert Report write up. I just wanted to share it with you all as closely as possible to the way in which I experienced it! Thanks a lot for your encouragement guys! Incidentally Comet... We didn't attend the Friday evening Concert because it was sold out. We did enquire at the venue to ascertain whether any tickets had been returned so that one of us/ both of us could go, but it was not to be! Andrew

Hi Paddy, I will collect my 'LLB' (Bachelor of Langholm Laws) Certificate in just under 6 weeks on November 15th. Guess what? November 15th is a very significant date to me. I'm not into astrology at all... just in case you are wondering, but I'm rather pleased to be graduating on this date because November 15th (2004) was the date when I first saw Hayley ever perform in Edinburgh (at the Usher Hall - which BTW is currently being refurbished). November 15th 2004 was also the same day when the "Bonus CD Edition" of Pure was released. So there! I only wish I could take Hayley to my Graduation Ball. That would just be fantastic!Sorry for veering "off-topic" a bit here... I should have known better... Back to the 'Buccleuch Centre' now! Andrew

Hi Andrew,
A very happy coincidence, indeed.
Great to have so many pleasant memories of Hayley all associated together. Hayley and yourself do go back a long way.
Maybe if you invite Hayley to your Graduation Ball ... who knows she might just come! I feel sure she still remembers your thoughtful and original tribute to her at the Buccleuch Centre.
Who could resist a charming Scotsman in a HW-tartan kilt! If not, she'll be encouraged to come back to Edinburgh soon again.
Over to your magic charms, Andrew.
Hope your Graduation is a 'hoot'!
Paddy

Hi Les, It's great to hear from you! Welcome to 'HWI' I hope you don't mind but I've copied your post into this thread too since you have provided us with some relevant and very interesting information here. Thanks! I'm so glad to hear that you were present at the same Langholm Concert as we were. What a night huh? Did you attend the Friday (21st Sept) evening performace too by any chance, or do you know anybody who attended that Concert? I look forward to reading your future posts. Andrew Hello Everyone
I’m new to this forum but I have been a fan of Hayley since she first arrived on the international scene.
I first saw Hayley in concert in 2004 at the Bridgewater Hall on her “Pure Tour” and then more recently at Langholm on 20th September. Her performance at Langholm was excellent and I can add little to what has already been said in other reports. Hayley really was on top form, while the intimacy of the small venue made the evening so much more enjoyable.
I was also thrilled by the performance of Fiona Pears. Words like amazing and breathtaking come to mind but probably don’t go far enough to describe her performance. If you haven’t seen her yet - you must!
At the mid session interval, I took a walk outside by myself where it was cooler, and bumped into Fiona. She was also on her own and we chatted together for about five minutes. What a delightful young lady she is. After the concert I was absolutely thrilled to meet both Hayley and Fiona (again). I had my photo taken with each of them, and got Hayley to sign one of my CD inserts. I thought the concert was outstanding, but meeting the girls afterwards was the icing on the cake and made a wonderful evening even more special. It has left me with memories I will always treasure.
