Hi Dori, What a find! Wow, May It Be, and a closet Hayley fan comes out of the woodwork by the look of it... how do we track him down and get him onto HWI? Seriously though, this is an excellent "audience" video of very good quality (allowing for it being YouTube!). I enjoyed that! Cheers, Dave PS This is what they should have done at Filmharmonic recently!

Thanks Dori! That's a great video, and it's good to see Hayley being presented with her bouquet. I see it was posted on YouTube by Jack Duckworth. If we want to track him down, is he still in Coronation Street? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Thanks Dori
That's a great find! As we were there it is going to be great to keep as a memory of the night. Can't say I was looking for Jack Duckworth but certainly didn't notice him there!

Hi Folks. Sometimes I have to go into the back of my cave and sit on my favourite rock and just think, to ponder and turn things over until I can see it properly. At the turn of the century, this one, not the last one in the year 2000. I was in Paris with my wife for a short break. I had heard about DaWinci and VanGough all my life, I had seen books and prints of their work, I really wanted to see some of DaVinci's works in the Louvre so we went there but the queue was enormous, snaking back and forth around the glass pyramid. We changed our minds and went back across the bridge to Musee D'Orsay as a compromise, we got in easily on a short queue. I was a little disappointed I was not going to see The Madonna on the Rocks and other works. I had seen prints of VanGoughs work for years and was not impressed, I had never met anyone who had seen one in reality... I did not know there were any VanGoughs in the museum we had just entered.. We browsed through various galleries of nice paintings etc. and went upstairs going from room to room not knowing what to expect in each room as we entered. I turned into a room and a few feet away on the wall on my left was the painting known as "Starry Night".. I was gob smacked at how beautiful it was in reality I looked at it for quite a while before I turned around to find the room was full of VanGough's paintings, twenty three of them in one place. They were stunning, nobody had told me they were so three dimensional and if you move slightly the picture changes as the angle of light changes, So the painting is different for every different angle you can look at it giving thousands of different possibilities. We spent hours in that room. I am on thread, Hayley's CDs and DVDs are prints of her live work . They are very good prints of her work and are very beautiful in themselves. But to have seen and heard Hayley sing live at the National Concert Hall in Dublin was like seeing VanGoughs paintings in reality. The colours were beautiful and the depth and tone were absolutely stunning. 13 masterpieces were performed that night by a wonderful artist, without a missed brush stroke or a missed highlight or the sparkle of a star that you could wish on. I hope I never forget it. I am trying to post some real pictures for those who don't like reading long winded posts from die hard Hayley fans. I'll be back.. comet

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum, though not new to Hayley's singing. I love "live" music shows (part of the reason why I am so late to this thread) and especially like events in the Concert Hall, as there is always a sense of occasion. The concert hall is quite small, which has the advantage that you never seem too far away from the stage and performers generally like it. As soon as I saw Hayley on the NCH programme I booked my seat - Row L, slightly right of centre looked good for sound, if not for photos. Normally photography is strictly forbidden in the concert hall so I did not bring my good camera, just a compact which I always carry. I am in the unusual position of having seen the faces and now putting names on them. I really cant add much to what has already been said, only to add that I thought the orchestra was excellent and the lighting was very tastefully handled. I thought Hayley looked very elelgant and feminine and her voice was crystal clear. I was reluctant to use my camera but eventually did during the second encore. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert and was well satisfied as I got up to leave. I was considering hanging about in case there was a chance to meet Hayley, when it was announced that she would be signing in the foyer. Now that, I thought, was very generous of her. I joined the forming queue in third or fourth place and saw those two young children referred to earlier. Hayley signed my programme and CD inserts and when I enquired if she ever visited her MySpace page, she said occasionally but she directed me here. When she could not find the URL on the Odyssey booklet, she wrote it out in full (includiing hyphens !) for me. I remarked that I was surprised that photography was allowed and she asked if I would like a photograph now. (Can a duck swim !) After she had signed my stuff she got up and asked one of the NCH staff if he would take a photo for me, and I must compliment him on the photo - much better than my own. I thanked Hayley and turned to leave, and only then saw the length of the queue behind me ! What a kind and generous, elegant and glamorous, talented young lady. What a privilege to meet her on the first occasion I see her 'live'. ( I can think of one traditional Irish musician whom I have seen on numerous occasions but never yet met, despite my attempts. I still like the music though.) So glad to hear Hayley say she will be back soon. I will be first in the queue, well, after her "regulars" ! One other point, which I dont think has been mentioned already. The concert was being recorded by RTE Radio 1 for future broadcast - presumably on the In Concert series, which would mean it would be archived and available on demand. I only hope that the ringing mobile phones/ pagers, which I heard on three occasions, do not spoil it. How can people be so inconsiderate, after two announcements before the concert began. And finally finally, Hayley was interviewed on The Tubridy Show on Radio 1 the previous Tuesday - probably nothing new to you regulars, but she sounded so relaxed and happy and I could listen to that accent all day. I will post a link later, when I get home. And a couple of snaps. Sorry to be so longwinded !
