She looks so happy in the last two, it begs the question: Is there ANYONE who could resist that disarming smile?? Great pictures as always, Grant.

Hi Grant, You have no idea how much I enjoy reading your reports. They are extremely well-written and although I wasn't there with you, it's almost like I was at your side during the whole concert. Looks like you had a fantastic time, once again. Wow! ... Lots of thanks and Best wishes from France, Stephany I echo those sentiments exactly!! Even so far away, I feel as if I am seated right next to Miss Hayley and listening intently to every note! Very, very good work! And lovely pictures!! Grant, I surely hope your ears could endure Shakespeare, after hearing such an elegant voice a couple evenings prior! Danny, you deserve my congratulations as well! I have no idea how much time and effort goes into arranging such an event, but I can only imagine how tiresome and tedious it must be...you apparently did a wonderful job, and helped raise quite a good bit of money for Hayley's charity. Very well done, Sir. May God reward your hard work and labour! Best Regards to All, Eric

Fabulous photographs, Grant! In another thread, Dori suggested that Hayley's best colour is green. I think her best colours are really green and black, which means chocolate to Hayley! Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Everybody, I couldnt get the sentinel review to scna in, so i am typing it out below as it appears in the paper. Charity night was a classic A full Victoria Hall enjoyed an enchanting evening of musical bliss last night from classical superstar Hayley Westenra. The concert was performed in aid of UNICEF, of which Westenra is one of the youngest ambassadors. And £14,000 was raised through the concert which will provide bikes for a community in Ghana. Backed by just a single violin and a quite flamboyant but extremely proficient pianist, Westenra's voice was strikingly rich and pure of tone as each song passionately told its own story. The Victoria Hall has a reputation as one of the most acoustically-blessed venues in the country, and the resonance of her velvet-lined voice was both spine-tinglingly eerie and beautiful in equal measure. Her material was an entertaining mix that never seemed predictable. Performing in English, Italian and Maori, Westenra moved from contemporary to classical and with a hint of her celtic influences. Westenra also had a good rapport with her avid audience, her quiet and unassuming charm more than winning over the audience. Her new album is available soon and some of last nights audience will surely go out and buy it. In fact the only disappoinment came as Westenra got to her finale and there were mutterings that the cocnert was too short. However what is certain is that the audience had heard one of the most beautiful voices to grace the Victoria Hall.
I think youll agree that that is a very positive review, hope you enjoyed reading it,
Danny

Thanks for taking the trouble to type out the report from the Sentinel - a very good review I thought, although there were a couple of errors/omissions. - They didn't include Elvish as a language (Lord of the Rings chorus)
- Her new album is already out!
An opportunity for you to put them right and get a bit of extra publicity perhaps? Best wishes Grant

I don 't mean to pour cold water, flip8 but do we need to know such a person? On the other hand, perhaps such a person needs our help--or Hayley's? More interestingly, may be Hayley would want to meet him? She might feel she might be able to help him! Peter S.

We are intending to gain extra publicity by doing a presentation of a cheque to Hayley when we know the total amount raised, so i shall correct the reporter about the album release when we send them that. I suppose the reporter could always have been talking about the West Side Story album?

I suppose the reporter could always have been talking about the West Side Story album? Danny Interesting point Dannny. We really must not jump to conclusions. However, even were we wrong in correcting a perceived error, the key of course is the manner of approach in the correction. Presented as '...to which CD were you referring when you said, 'out soon'?' clarifies the point immediately without giving offence.' Peter S.
