That's always the problem with festivals: "members" or "friends" of the cathedral get priority. What was that thread Roger about churches v. concert halls ?! Incidentally Grant, there must be two Jeffs because this one isn't going. Looks like I wouldn't have stood much chance anyway !!

No One at Chichester Festivities on Saturday and I've been out for most of the day. ANYWAY, got hold (not literally : of Mr Symmonds just before tea and have had the details of what went wrong explained to me. It has to do with 'on line' booking which shouldn't have happened when it did and should not have offered £25 tickets as there have been none of these available since 16th March HOWEVER, on explaining why I was ringing and that I knew about on line bookings being offered £25 tickets, I have also been promised an upgrade Mr Symmonds also advised that those of you who have not been contacted about your postal booking, more than likely stated that you would accept a lower price ticket. In which case, that is what will be sent to you. If this is not the case - I think Roger and Steve H said they hadn't been contacted - you should contact CH immediately. Despite the obvious errors, I accept that Chichester Festivities have been superb in the way they have dealt with at least two HWI members Best wishes Grant

Hi Everyone My persistence paid off as I have been sent a £25 ticket for row H in the Nave.
Stuart - depending upon your success or otherwise if you end up with a seat miles from the stage then, assuming photography is permitted , I will be quite happy to swop seats at the interval in order that you can get some decent photos for the Forum. Let me know.
Best wishes Martin

Interesting Martin. I wondered if maybe complaining might end up producing that sort of result. I'll let you all know what I end up with Wonder if Gordon has been asked to send his ticket back yet? (only joking Gordon) Anyone else heard anything yet? Best wshes Grant

Hi Grant
Still got my ticket!!! Looks like I have caused some hassle here but at least the problem has been brought to light. I hope the box office can get the HWI folks decent seats after all.

I made the customary phone call yesterday to be told that no £25 tickets were available at the time my booking was received and that I should have booked earlier. Considering I requested the postal booking form on the day the event was first announced, and I returned it on the day it was received, I fail to see how I could possibly have booked any earlier. And if I couldn't, neither could anybody else so how come many other bookings were accepted before mine? My persistence paid off and I have now received what I asked for in the first place. You will find me in H5! Roger

Sounds like Mr Symmonds is getting a bit fed up with our 'persistence' Does anyone have any idea of row numbering for Chichester? At Canterbury, I believe, the first few rows were single i.e. A; B; C; D etc. then they doubled up E; EE; F; FF etc. and there were 50+ rows. When I was first offered a £22 seat, I asked where it was likely to be and was told about 30 rows back (out of a total of 40 ish) On that basis A to H could be 'single' rows with 'I' being the first to double up (we know Gordon is in JJ). That would allow for a total of 42 rows. My ticket hasn't arrived yet! Grant

Hi Grant, I don't know the answer to that one. I have known the double-lettered rows be at the front (as they are in Cadogan Hall) and I have known them be at the back (Hampton Court). The way things are going for this event, I wouldn't be surprised if they were in the belfry! Roger

Never mind, you could always say that you have never seen me before! It wouldn't suprise me if Row H has been specially reserved for "troublemakers" flanked by the Church wardens. Martin

Hi Martin, When I was offered H5, I was told there would be three of us in a row... but I accepted it anyway! So who is the other one? Roger
