I think we got Odyssey a bit earlier over here in the UK. I remember getting it just before our Exmoor holiday that year, which started on September 305h. Played it incessantly in the campervan through that week. (I could look up the release date, but I'm too lazy). Martin D Odyssey was released in Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan on 8th August 2005 UK and Japan on 26th September 2005 USA 18th October 2005 It was also released on cassette The Special Edition was released in New Zealand and Australia in November 2005 and 10th April 2006 in the UK Cheers Grant

He made a fan's day by singing "Happy Birthday" to her and mentioned another by name as he sung a request. The only other occasion like this I can recall is when Hayley asked Grant to stand and take a bow for attending his 50th concert. Yes! Remember it well There have been other occasions too. My very first concert was the UNICEF Charity Concert at St James Piccadilly on 22nd September 2005 which Belinda and Kimberley Hutchinson had flown over from New Zealand for. Hayley mentioned them and dedicated "Who Painted The Moon Black" to them. It happened to me again a couple of years later at the second Telford concert on 16th June 2007 when she sang "Abide With Me" as an encore - I had asked if she would sing it a couple of concerts earlier. Hi Paige Perhaps if I'd said tweet instead of post, my post might have made more sense (Although it is in the Twitter thread )

Hey I think Hayley might be back in New Zealand. In a recent post she was seen buying Cold Power laundry detergent - a product only available in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. That would seem to fit with the time of recording of the mystery duet. Just sayin' Grant

Well deduced Comet! Quite right, the fishing boat registration letters FY do stand for Fowey. However, Fowey covers a number of Cornish fishing ports. You will see from Hayley's picture the registration numbers on two of the boats are FY8 something, which indicates the boats are Mevagissy based. So the picture is more likely to be taken there.
Taking anorak off now!!

Hello Martin D! Hunstanton is on the east side of the Wash, which is the only part of the east coast that faces west. It's sometimes pronounced "Hunston" by the locals, but "Hunstanton" is the correct way to say it elsewhere. www.visitwestnorfolk.com/explore/coast/hunstantonRichard OK Richard, North West Facing I'll give you. But isn't it the locals who best know how to pronounce the name of the place they live? I grew up in a village called Farcet, which those not in the know pronounce "Far set", but the locals call "Fassit". Of course you might have problems if you come from llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, although Siohan Owen who was born there takes delight in pronouncing the full name on stage. Martin D Been there many times in my teens as my parents had a caravan at West Runton between Cromer and Sheringham. I do recall it had a "local" name but don't remember it being used much back then. On the other hand, should you venture into the Yorkshire village of Slaithwaite, you would be laughed out of town by the locals as the local proununciation is "Slough-it" and it is used extensively. Humm! My first post for ages and it's wayyyyyy of topic! Ooooppss! Grant

The window bar has "BR" inscribed on it, which means she is most likely in Britain. It is an opening window, which is becoming increasingly rare on Britain's main line network. From the door colour, I would say it is probably a First Great Western HST (High Speed Train), which operates out of London's Paddington Station to Bristol, South Wales and the west country. As she says "commuter" it is probably not as far out as any of those destinations. An educated guess might put her somewhere between Reading and London, but there is not much to be seen through the window to give the game away. Spot on John! That window bar is unique to the Mk.3 coach now found mostly on HST sets. The colour confirms it as First Great Western. I just wonder why Hayley is standing at the door. Looking at her hair the train is obviously at speed. Heading home after another song writing session perhaps? Cheers Grant

Thanks Libby! (I think) I'm not sure I agree that a new pic has to be similar to, or in a similar position as, the existing one. There are some wonderful pictures of Hayley about. I'll throw this one into the mix.
Also taken at Dublin last year. Cheers Grant

It's the Sign of the Horns, i.e. the "Rock'N'Roll" sign, often used by fans at concerts of that genre. Originally used in Southern Italy to ward off the Evil Eye, it was popularised by Ronnie James Dio when he joined Black Sabbath. Here's the Wikipedia article: www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sign_of_the_horns-Taylor Thanks Taylor

Richard So can someone explain to me what the above hand gesture means? I'm guessing it's not rude if Hayley uses it

The rules of cricket are simple Libby. You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game Martin D That's hilarious Martin. The funniest thing I've read in ages! Cheers Grant

If there are any UK members who are fans of the BBC quiz show "Pointless" you may be interested to know that Hayley got a mention on tonights show ........ well, nearly the contestant referred to her as "Hayley Westerman" and the show's co-host, Richard Osman corrected her saying she meant Hayley WesteRNA. Grrrrrrrrrr. Richard, you should be ashamed of yourself!! Needless to say there have been a number of tweets correcting them HaHa! Cheers Grant

LOL Yeah. And anyway, those performances, though more recent than the Crystal Cathedral (which no longer is being used by the Hour of Power) ones, was never available for sale. However, they were aired on American TV where people could record and keep if they wanted to. And, the Boston pops concert was available for purchase for a very short time. Not sure what you mean Libby about not being available for sale I managed to get hold of a copy of the programme which featured Hayley through the UK branch of The Hour of Power. Their web site currently lists 2013/14 programmes on DVD that are available to purchase but sadly, not earlier ones. If anyone wants to try to find a copy, it is programme #1946. Other rare ones I have are the Northern Ireland DVD (withdrawn from sale), the Salisbury Cathedral concert (only available to purchase for those actually attending) and the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance featuring Hayley. Best wishes Grant

I never thought I could be friends with people I never met, but it seems I have been proven wrong. And I am so grateful for that. I want to wish every single person here a happy, exciting, and prosperous new year. -Taylor Yes Taylor, it is a strange phenomenon but, as has been said many times before, we are Hayley's HWI family and long may we remain so. I have met many of the members here, some from the other side of the world; wonderful people I now call "friend". Hayley has that affect on people. Happy New Year everyone!!!Grant
