Hello Spidy, GEE this is tragic, its heart stopping, I am so glad that your family and Hayley’s family are safe. We have been watching the news most of the afternoon and such devastation, there is still people trapped in buildings, our Prime Minister released a statement not long after the event having immediately sent a team of 70 consisting of medical personnel and rescue opps, I felt very proud when she said to the New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, New Zealand is a part of our family and anything you want just ask for it and its on its way immediately, I still haven’t heard if any of my friends over there are all Ok yet just praying they are. It seems a lot of the phones are down so I won’t cause more issues trying to ring. But a mate of mine, Garth Jenkins works in the inner CBD of CH CH so I am really fearful for his safety. I can’t get him on his mobile. Regards Rob. Ill just modify this post as I have just received a text message from Garth, he and his family are Ok, he said that most of the quake is centred around CH CH so all our friends should be Ok. and I couldnt text him back Spidy so your probably right there, well I did but he didn't reply, but at least he got my missed call to text me. fwewww. here's hopeing.

Hello Rob! We've definitely got something in common. I haven't fallen for the charms of Susan Boyle either! CBD is the central bussiness district where all the hotels, shops Cathedral etc are. Sounds like there will be deaths this time. This is just coming through on our news reports now, this is really bad, hope all your families are safe Ross and spidy, does anyone know if Hayley knows or are her family safe, I have a few friends in NZ and haven't heard yet how they are faring in this, you guys have just gotten over the last lot from September, Queensland Brisbane was hit with a massive storm again causing major catastrophe, black outs and flooding. Its definitely time for this little black duck to get off the coast and head inland, its a wonder these big quakes aren't causing tidal waves somewhere. keep safe guys. regards Rob.

With much regret I really have to say that I think Hayley has ruined my life musically, tonight while watching a television show called Good News week, a young attractive singer with the name of Paris did a song for one segment in the show, we listened then looked at each other and said almost together, Naaaa she has nothing on THE VOICE . (That’s what we affectionately call Hayley here ) It was then that I realized I now basically judge all female singers on Hayley’s voice. ( Am I alone here ) WHAT CHANCE have they got, there is NO voice like Hayley’s in my mind, am I doomed to walk the earth forever drawing mustache's on other singers faces in my mind, is there a cure for Hayley mania ??, will I ever be released from the agony of being totally unsatisfied with anything less than the best, Am I alone in becoming cranky with others that cannot appreciate the pureness of THE VOICE, ? woe to all us Hayley fans as we try to escape the magnetic grip of this beautiful siren, trapped forever in her clutches. AND LOVING IT !!!! Regards Rob.

Hi Rob I think you're going to have your work cut out - Tracy's creation is gorgeous. Good luck anyway and I look forward to seeing the end result. By the way, if you make a hole in the top AND the bottom of the egg, you should be able to blow the contents out! Best wishes Grant Hello Grant, Yes they are nice, well here is my finished egg, groovy or what? And a few more of Tracy’s eggs in the back ground, she hasn’t did the big ostrich egg yet but that should look pretty good. Ohhh by the way Richard, ha ha loved your comments I was just thinking that for your long service to hwi if Trace and I get to a Hayley concert in England I could get Trace to do a nice decoration for that shiny spot on top of your head, BUT you would have to wear a hat during the concerts as the stage lighting might reflect off the jewellery, :je would be a great vocal point for conversation though. Regards Rob

Hi Rob, I thought only grandmothers knew how to suck eggs But yes, Tracy is certainly a very talented young lady. I'm not sure you want to be bored with my family history though. We had to find out about it the hard way, my dad never talked about it when he was alive, just as he didn't say much about his time in the Royal Navy. Except the occasional thing like he couldn't stand it when Mum burned the bacon - said it reminded him of the smell of burning bodies... And Bill, yes, Big Joe from Accuweather says there is going to be some serious snowfall over there, the worst of the winter. He says that we had the worst of our winter in December. Better batten down the hatches. Martin D Hello Martin. Never bored with anything, I think its fascinating hearing about other people and how their lives are sculptured by their past, I can understand what your dad says about the smell, I have spoken to a lot of old guys in my time and they all tell similar stories, it must be hard to forget the past in a lot of their cases, they tend to keep it to themselves too, I think they would prefer to just forget it all together as hard as that might be. And sounds like you’re in for a cold one Bill. Looks like the second big cyclone is ripping into Queensland again, they say this one is going to be the biggest one QLD has ever had, they sure are getting a battering up there. Regards Rob

Hello all. Just had to show everyone what Tracy does on long lonely nights out here, As they have chickens Tracy picks out the biggest eggs, makes a hole in one end then sucks out the yolk, she then paints, decorates and mounts the shell and this is one of the finished products and as you can see from the two eggs in the photo, this is the large egg here, (poor chicken) Isn’t it beautiful. So I am having as go at it, the worst part is sucking out the yolk Any way this is the first stage of my attempt to get in touch with my feminine side (that’s what Trace calls it) I think she is trying to domesticate me, there goes my MACHO image out the door. I'll post a photo of the finished product if it turns out OK. Regards Rob

Hello Rob! Hello Martin. Trent is a fairly common name here in Australia. Trents brothers name is Nathan and they were named after Trent Nathan the fashion designer as my Aunty was a fashion designer and a Trent Nathan fan, I also knew two other kids in school named Trent. So I am not alone! I was named after the river - my paternal grandmother's family were boatmen on the river Trent (they came from Newark on Trent in Nottinghamshire). I never met them though, they both died before I was born ( a very tragic family, my grandmother's brother died after being struck by lightning whilst on a boat on the river - she also lost two husbands and two of her four children in separate tradgedies, but that is another story), as did my maternal grandmother. Hope you can disentagle that sentence! Martin D Hello Martin. You are definitely not alone but your right about your family history, complicated Sounds like an interesting story though. regards Rob

Hello Rob! I'm glad you and Tracy had a good time. Now you can practice the line dance at home, so I shall expect to see a video of you two doing it. On second thoughts, you could make it five with Tracy's Dad, Trent and Sonya. Best wishes, Richard Richard Hello Richard. Are you sure you really want to see a video of Tracy and I doing it, Trent and Sonya maybe as they have been doing it for years but as I am only new to the sport I need a lot more practise before revealing my technique . Gazza, Tracy's dad dosent do it anymore, he just likes to watch. Hi Larry. Thanks for the advise and yes I know the reason I was sore yesterday was I had used muscles I hadn't used before, I had Ross River Fever when I was 14 and it bowled me over and I lost a lot of weight so dad and mum got me into a body building routine to build myself back up to a healthy level and I have been working out ever since, now its just a habit that I enjoy really. Hello Martin. Trent is a fairly common name here in Australia. Trents brothers name is Nathan and they were named after Trent Nathan the fashion designer as my Aunty was a fashion designer and a Trent Nathan fan, I also knew two other kids in school named Trent. I don't suppose that anyone has heard but Queensland is preparing for another deluge of water as two more cyclones are heading for the coast, they expect it to cover 2,000 K of Queensland coastline. Here we go again. Regards Rob.

Hello Richard, Tracy is pretty wrapped in what you discovered in regards to the line dancing but I will let her comment on that later. Tracy took me line and square dancing last night, I often work out at the gym but don't you just hate it when you think your super fit and after a night out someone I wont mention just jumps out of bed as if they have no muscle issues while I am in total pain. I think I had the most incredible night ever last night, I have been to disco's and dances not only in Australia but many other countries as well and have never had so much fun in one night ever. There were about 400 people and I can say that people in the outback really know how to live it up. although they served alcohol no one got drunk, no fights, no one throwing up (unlike some disco's and parties I have been to in the city. ) more food then you could possible eat and just a great bunch of people. The ages ranged from babies to 90 year olds, my cousin Trent and his wife Sonya were there so Trace and I joined them to make a foursome for the square dancing. Its just absolutely amazing how isolated it is out here and yet the people out here get together so often and have the most incredible fun, every body knows everybody and when they say to you that any friend of Tracy's is a friend of ours they really mean it so sincerely. Back home I only know the names of two families in my whole street, out here if people don't know you they make sure to introduce themselves and their whole family and tell you to drop in anytime and when your a new comer they take you round and introduce you to their friends and those peoples friends and nothing is too much trouble for them. They held the dance at a pavilion and it has a timber floor and they sprinkle saw dust over the floor to make it super slippery, during the breaks between dances the kids run up and down the dance floor using it like a slippery slide , Trent and I had to give it a try but these kids have it down pat and my butt has paid the price. I could write a whole story about it but I won't except to say it is so funny to go to a function and instead of a pile of cars in the PARKING LOT its full of helicopters and light aircraft . Oh and Tracy doesn't drink and drive fly. Regards Rob.

Gee not much activity on here over the last few days, does it often get like this. perhaps you could post some more jokes Richard. Ive got some news anyway, The floods are hitting us hard, there is one metre of water hitting the side of the house, the rain is pelting down and the wind is howling, my mother has done nothing but stare through the kitchen window for hours, if it gets any worse I might have to let her in. Regards Rob Hi Rob Well the least you could do is to give her an umbrella. Good One Rob.. Larry WHAT...... didnt you see Larry where I said the wind is HOWLING, that would ruin a perfectly good umbrella, Regards Rob. ps. I wouldn't really be that cruel to my beautiful mum.but when Tracy's dad told me the joke i JUST CRACKED UP and had to share it.
